This is the intro to new media that I gave to the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce. This is an introduction to the concept of new media, some of the tools available and how some groups are using them already.
6. New media is an ever-evolving term, but today has come to refer to media tools driven primarily by digital technology and typically facilitates multi-directional message distribution.
7. Consumers are tiring of “interruption” advertising and are increasingly in control of how they interact, filter, distribute, and consume their content and associated marketing messages.
8. DISCLAIMER: New media isn't a short-term project, an experiment, an event, a one-shot deal, or a quick fix. It's not something you throw money at, and using it doesn't guarantee sales or influence.

11. Weblog (Blog) A website that displays entries in reverse chronological order. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and media related to its topic.
21. Measuring New Media New media tends to be easier to measure because of the tie to technology. We can typically tell how many and how people are viewing and interacting with our media.
