Jan Hus studied at Charles University of Prague where he later became a master and rector. He preached against the Catholic Church's practice of selling indulgences for forgiveness of sins and pushed for religious reforms, wanting priests to behave well, not lie, live simply, and be poor like common people. His writings including Poslila, Dcerka, and About Church promoted seeking, hearing, learning, loving, speaking, keeping, and defending the truth until death.
