Objective : Handle key data management services close to data, the database. Managing data is Oracle’s core competency.
Model structure is expressed as an Event Processing Network (EPN) An EPN describes collaborating producers and consumers of events. The EPN is a directed graph made up of: Adapters – translate external events/data into events that are processed by rules Streams – connect sources and sinks to configure the flow control Processors – set of rules that are applied to streams that the processor listens to Listeners - event sinks implemented as POJOs that implement the business logic necessary to handle raised events A WLEvS application is defined via a Spring configuration file WLEvS custom tags declare instances and relationships of EPN elements (e.g. <wlevs:adapter>) Events Implemented as JavaBean or Map Registered with a runtime service Adapters, Processors, and Events Are published via OSGI services and can be shared across applications
