1. How to Cite Opposing Viewpoints Essays
into NoodleTools

2. Step 1
Log into your NoodleTools account and create a list for MLA Advanced.
In another browser tab, have your Opposing Viewpoints essay open and ready to cite.

3. Step 2
Choose “Book” from the drop-down menu and click “Create Citation”.

4. Step 3
Keep “Book” selected and click “Next”

5. Step 4
Select “Online” and click Next

6. Step 5
Select “A special section...” and then “Yes...” then click “Next”

7. For the final step in NoodleTools you will need to refer
to your Opposing Viewpoint essay

City of publication
Publication Year
Title of book Book Editor
Publisher

8. Step 6
Leave this section blank
Fill these sections
from the essay information

9. Step 7
Leave at Basic Section
Enter author of book section
and click “Add”
Enter title of section
Leave blank
Enter editor and click
“Add”

10. Final Step
Scroll down to:
“Online retrieval”
Enter “Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center”
Copy and paste URL from essay.
Hint: use the URL from the OV citation rather than your
address bar - it’s shorter!
Select the date of access (leave it if it is the same date)

11. You’re done!
