• Example: Cryosurgery
– Freezes and kills abnormal
cells by using liquid
nitrogen
– Can be used as cancer
treatment and to kill
internal tumors

3. • Definition: Profuse sweating
• Example: Diaphoresis
– Heavy sweating
– Can be caused by anxiety, diabetes, fever, heart
failure, medications, menopause
– Harmless condition

4. • Definition: Blue
• Example: Cyanosis
– Bluish color to the skin or
mucous membrane
– Usually due to lack of oxygen in
the blood
– May be accompanied by
shortness of breath

– Removal of excessive fat deposits
