Editor's Notes
Intro…. Explain in detail what our ED/Wellness Program is and what it should include. Wellness test can and often should, include: Routine Fecal testing, CBC, Chem profile, Urinalysis, Heartworm testing and (depending on the patient’s age) T4 testing Increased owner/client expectations Will dramatically impact success of treatment Animals by nature, try to “cover up” when they are sick. They will not display early clinical symptoms of illness By the time your patient is clinical, disease/illness are often fairly advanced and more difficult to treat. Having a baseline will assist tremendously with treatment plan Pet owners will appreciate the level are care that is being offered and acceptance levels are high when their Veterinarian explains why Early Detection is so important.
Emphasize why annual diagnostics on young animals is good quality medicine and the importance of a baseline. Stress the importance that a successful Adult Program leads to a success Senior Program. This type of number justifies testing at an earlier age than just seniors Early Detection promises to have as great an impact on veterinary medicine as it has had on human medicine in the last 50 years.
Canine & Feline panels on this slide should be tailored for each individual presentation. This requires meeting with the lead doctor & OM prior to the day of the implementation seminar and showing them our ED code options sheet. THIS SLIDE: CUSTOM INSERT CLINIC NAME AND PROFILES UNDER CANINE AND FELINE PANEL HEADERS

Step 2: Ask client to review handout prior to seeing the doctor and briefly explain the program Step 3: Doctors: Follow through on the opportunity to discuss program AND make strong recommendations to your clients in the exam room “ We SHOULD do”…… “ We NEED to”…… Step 4: Doctor needs to mark patients record with Accept/Decline Step 5: Follow-up discussion with client about results and send a report card home
