Part I. PERSONALITY INVENTORY

       Below are listed eleven different situations and areas which confront all of us at
one time or another. The way we react in these situations can give us a general idea of
what kind of temperament we posses.

Directions: Encircle the number which best reflects the way you would normally respond
in the situation.

A. There is going to be a play in your organization. Would you rather:
        1. Direct the play?
        2. Take the lead role in the play?
        3. Work the lights backstage?
        4. Sit in the audience?
B. At a party, do you:
        1. Like to make sure things go well?
        2. Like to talk and be friendly with everyone?
        3. Feel a little afraid to mix unless you know someone well?
        4. Prefer to listen, relax, and enjoy the food?
C. When you have been hurt by someone, are you:
        1. Very angry and want to get revenge?
        2. Able to forget it quickly though at first you were down in the dumps?
        3. Hurt and want to die?
        4. Not bothered very much?
E. When you are buying clothes, do you look for:
        1. Unique colors?
        2. Flashy colors?
        3. Sedate colors?
        4. What everyone else is wearing?
F. What do you enjoy most?
        1. Getting out and doing something?
        2. Visiting with friends?
        3. Sitting by the water and watching the sunrise?
        4. Watching TV?
G. Your typical reaction to work is:
        1. Let’s get going! We’ll finish it tonight, even if we have to stay at it all night.
        2. Let’s sit down and discuss this project a while. By the way, that reminds me of
a joke.
3. I want some time o plan it carefully.
       4. I think I’ll take a nap and start on it later.
H. Your typical reaction to an insult is:
       1. I really don’t care what you think of me because I don’t need you anyway?
       2. I just want to get away from here. I feel I could cry?
       3. No response. Just the thought that I’ll get even someday?
       4. No sense getting excited about it?
I. Your typical statement in reaction to a compliment:
       1. Don’t get so sentimental?
       2. Don’t you really mean it? Tell me again.
       3. No response. Just a blush and a deep sense of satisfaction?
       4. Thank you. I appreciate that?


J. Your typical statement in reaction to problem is:
      1. I enjoy a good challenge. Let’s get going?
      2. Now, that’s a real problem. It reminds me of funny story?
      3. I’ll need more time to think about it?
      4. Think I’ll take a nap. Maybe it’ll be gone when I get up?
K. Your typical statement in reaction to yourself?
      1. If something must be done, I think I can handle it?
      2. I wonder if people really like me; I sure hope so?
      3. I’m not sure, but I think about it a lot?
      4. I’m hungry. Other than that, I’m okay?
Part II. ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION

Directions: To what extend do you agree with each of these statement based from
            what you really feel about yourself. Please check () the column most
            reflective of your concern.
       Where:

                     4      as very strong motivation
                     3      as moderate motivation
                     2      as weak motivation

I can evaluate its results in accordance with the standard I set

4. If others can, why can’t I, so I prefer to be in a place where
there is a strong challenge and an opportunity for success.

5. I am clear about my goals in life and I’m decisive in getting
what I want.
6. I am very careful in making decisions, I weigh consequences
first.
7. I am very independent; I don’t rely on others to meet my
needs and to get what I want.
8. I like to work with pressure; we rush jobs or too many
assignments to attend to.
9. When I decide on something, I am determined to execute it
even if others attempt to discourage me.
10. I am open to criticism and I don’t take it against the person
who lets me know my mistakes.

1. I love my peer and subordinates. I will not do things that may
affect them even if the group is at risk.
2. I like friendly person whom I can work with and I want to be
close with them.
3. I will be encouraged to work hard in an environment where

4. In my communication with others, I make it a point to say
things in a way that will not hurt other or antagonize.
5. I love to console others and tell them to be brave and not to
cry.
6. I enjoy having fun and socializing with friends and other
people.
7. I can easily spot people who are in trouble and reach out to
help them socialize.
8. In social gathering or a crowd, I take courage to talk people,
socialize with them or make friends with them.
9. I treat my younger colleagues like my own brothers and
sisters and express warm affection toward them.
10. I can easily adjust and work to different person in different
places.

clean environment.
2. I like to subordinates work independently and make sure that
each has his own responsibility and accountability.

3. I like to praise subordinates whenever they do something

5. I believe each one in the group or office is exerting his/her
best effort.
6. I see a very bright future for me and my colleagues in the
group.
7. I often affirm others for whatever good I see in them.
8. I extend my cooperation willingly to the work group
regardless of how I feel with those I work with.
9. I believe we have bright ideas and I make sure that I make it
a point to insist on what we believe in during meetings and
conversation with people.
10. As a manager I always encourage team spirit, support
subordinates and reward their achievements thereby raising
their morale.
