36. What is “Dedicated” Funding for Transit?
► A reliable source of annual revenues that provides
support to transit operations and/ or debt service on
financed capital costs.
► Not necessarily “new” or “increased” funding, but
the expansion of existing transit service will
necessitate new revenue.
► Revenues are established on the front-end to be
dedicated for transit and its use is not subject to the
discretion of the local governing body as is the case
with general fund contributions.
► Can be implemented through a variety of ways
