This presentation looks at the changing face of the Visual Arts classroom. It is explores a range of opportunities for developing digital literacies and skills for the 21st century, while nurturing traditional art skills such as drawing and painting. The presentation shares examples of student work which integrate the development of digital and visual literacy, through the use of tools such as iMovie, Photoshop and Prezi. The use of equipment such as scanners, tablets and visualisers in the Visual Arts classroom will also be explored. As well as looking at new ways to make artworks, the presentation explores ways that students can share their work, gain feedback and respond to the work of others through the use of tools such as Voicethread, Moodle forums, podcasts and blogs.
