CO17 Opening Ceremony and Layout

Connecting Online (CO) is a free 3-day online
conference February 3- 5, 2017 that has been taking
place on the first full weekend of February since
2009. CO17 is the 8th annual CO event. The
themes of CO have been to improve instruction and
learning. The theme of CO17 is connecting online
for information.
In 2012, the presenters published a book called
Connecting Online for Instruction and Learning:
International Perspectives.

Dr. Nellie Deutsch (Ed.D) is an education technology
consultant. She’s on EdMedia executive and planning
committee, WAOE, and TESOL CALL-IS EVO
Coordination team. Nellie has been teaching English in
high school and higher education for over 35 years,
integrating technology into her face-to-face classes since
1992, and teaching with Moodle since 2003. She
organizes free online events such as MOOCs, online
conferences (Connecting Online and Moodle MOOT) and
workshops on how to manage and teach fully online or
blended learning using Moodle, WizIQ, Slidespeech,
Screencast-o-matic, and Google Drive to engage learners
in active authentic discovery learning by creating videos
to document the process and teach as a way to learn.
