John’s team have been struggling lately and are under immense
amounts of pressure.

Implications…
The team understood how important it is to remove company
silos. Unfortunately, they did not have the official power to do that, but
nothing stopped them to interact with other employees to achieve the best
outcome for their customers.
They firmly believed that results would help their cause. Furthermore, John's team
switched to a development method that produces customer value very quickly in
the beginning and every iteration increased the value.
The team also assigned their most experienced developer as lifecycle manager to
make sure that the software they produce can be changed quickly
when needed.
