•It takes just a quick
glance, maybe three
seconds, for someone to
evaluate you when you
meet for the first time.

•Opinion is formed based
on your appearance,
your body language,
your mannerisms, and
how you are dressed.
With every new encounter, you are evaluated and yet another
person's impression of you is formed.
               Once formed, never forgotten!

Editor's Notes

  1. What kind of an impression you hold of this person?
  2. Making first impression your Best impression completely depends on readiness of an individual to put his best foot forward in any kind of situation, it is about presenting self with confidence and there is only one shot and no retake.Personally I believe one should give time to understand others, gather sufficient data points before forming an impression which is lasting one, rejecting/dis-approving someone basis first appearance, looks, first conversation is completely wrong.
  3. But that does not mean that you should display your fake attitude. Just be yourself and flaunt the original you!GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION?A young doctor was just setting up his first office when hissecretary told him there was a man to see him. The doctorwanted to make a good first impression by having the manthink he was successful and very busy. He told his secretaryto show the man in.At that moment, the doctor picked up the telephone andpretended to be having a conversation with a patient. Theman waited until the "conversation" was over. Then, thedoctor put the telephone down and asked, "Can I help you?"To which the man replied, "No, I'm just here to connect yourtelephone."
  4. “It takes 15 muscles to smile and 37 to frown!” So save energy and Smile
  5. There is no doubt that your first impression is very important and most of the time you get only one chance to make that knocking impact. It is also true that usually you do not get another chance to rectify your first impression. However, if you are lucky enough to get another chance, hold that with both hands and make an everlasting impact. Here, there are two types of people you meet …people at your workplace, people in your family and those with whom you meet occasionally, once in a year or so…one should take care of that. I only like to say, that it is very important to know the type of person you are going to meet and what type of future you are looking forward, involving that person in your life; so based on that…one should be prepared.
  6. Looks are deceiving, but trust me; it hardly takes 8 to 50 seconds to form a lasting impression about the person whom we meet for the very first time in our life. It may be on the basis of his looks, his attire, way of talking, sitting or just by looking at his body movements. So why not give some time on these aspects, which though look small, but play a critical role in crafting our overall expression in front of the other person?
  7. What we say? = 7%How we say it? = 38%Non Verbal Behaviour? = 55%“Learn to look happier, less pinched and smile more
