2. We are created & saved to become like
Christ. God’s ultimate goal for our life on
earth is the development of our Christ-
like character. God wants His children to
bear His image and likeness. He want us
to grow & mature spiritually. Christ-
likeness is all about transforming our
character not our personality.
3. A. JESUS, OUR SAVIOR AND LORD.
1. SAVIOR (REDEEMER)-He saves us from
the power & punishment of sin.
2. LORD (SOVEREIGN RULER)-He has the
right & authority over our lives.We assume
the position of follow ship-to obey & follow
Him.
B. Salvation is not based on what we do, it is
based on what Jesus did. (Gal 2:16/Eph 2:8-
9/Titus 3:5)
4. A. We Must Cooperate WithThe Holy
Spirit’s Work. (2Cor 3:18)
1. Put off your old self & put on the
new self. (Eph 4:20-24)
2. Allow the Holy Spirit to direct our
ways.
5. B. God Uses His Word, People &
CircumstancesTo Mold Us.
1. God’s Word-provides the truth.
2. God’s people-provides the support.
3. Circumstances- provides the
environment we need to practice Christ
likeness.
6. C. Becoming Like Christ Is A Long,
Slow Process. (Eph 4:13)
1.We are God’s work in progress.
2. Character development is a
lifelong process.
7. A. Live out the life of Christ. (Mt 5:16)
B. Sending a message of salvation
by being obedient to His will. (As a
believer, we have a powerful
resources which energize or enabling
us to do God’s purpose in our lives.
(Phil 2:13)
8. God’s good pleasure is to follow
Him and become Christ-like.
Becoming like Christ must be the
goal of every believer. Becoming like
Christ must also be our immediate
responsibility, our greatest
privileges and our final destiny.
