Reflections And Aspirations In The Morning

  1. 1. 1 To Grow In Love, Peace and Wisdom
  2. 2. 2 Upon rising early in the morning, do reflect wisely, it is a good thing.
  3. 3. 3 Observe and listen very mindfully. There is Dhamma all around, you will see.
  4. 4. 4 The Door said… Open the Door of your heart Aspire to fill your heart with Loving-kindness. Loving-kindness or Metta will bring much happiness.
  5. 5. 5 The Ceiling said… Set Noble and High Goals The Noblest and Highest Goal is Enlightenment. With Enlightenment comes true Peace, Joy and Wisdom.
  6. 6. 6 The Fan said… Be Cool. Watch your temper. Anger, Ill- will and hate are poisons for the mind. Check the arising of this danger every time.
  7. 7. 7 The Telephone said… Watch your Speech Lying, Slander, Harsh Speech and Gossip will bring misery. Practice truthful, gentle, kind and useful speech mindfully.
  8. 8. 8 The Calendar said…Don’t Procrastinate To learn, understand and to practice Dhamma, fools procrastinate. Life is uncertain, death is certain … we can’t wait or hesitate.
  9. 9. 9 The Clock said… Be Mindful moment to moment Mindfulness is The Path to the state of Deathlessness. The mindful mind will grow in Calm, Peace and Happiness.
  10. 10. 10 The Window said… Learn to see things as they are To be able to SEE all things as they are truly, we must walk the Noble 8-Fold Path diligently.
  11. 11. 11 The Mirror said… Reflect before and after you act Before an action, check it is not rooted in Greed, Hate or Delusion. When these defilements are conquered, you’ll attain Peace, Bliss and Liberation.
  12. 12. 12 The Floor said… Be humble. Watch Your EGO. Attaching to a Self, ‘I’ or Ego is a root cause of Dukkha. Practice Sila, Samadhi, Panna to cross The Sea of Samsara.
  13. 13. 13 The Chair said… Remember to sit back and relax. Meditate. Contemplate on the Dhamma. To concentrate the mind and contemplate on the Dhamma paves the way to end all forms of suffering or Dukkha.
  14. 14. 14 The Plant said… Remember to seek Nature’s Peace and Bliss In a place like Nature’s forest of serene greenery, may our mind attain a state of calm and tranquility.
  15. 15. 15 The Lamp said… Develop the Light of Wisdom Darkness is dispelled by light while Ignorance is dispelled by Wisdom. May we strive ardently to attain the Wisdom of Enlightenment.
  16. 16. 16 The End Contemplating most constantly and actualizing the Dhamma, may we conquer Mara and attain the cessation of Dukkha. With Metta, Bro. Oh Teik Bin
