2. Basketball has been a part of my
life since I was very young. I
started playing because my older
brother Dan played and I wanted
to be just like him.
3. When I was in kindergarten I
finally got to go to my first
basketball camp. It was a lot of
fun.
4. I practiced and practiced as
the years went on, and in fifth
grade I made the schools
Winter Olympics basketball
team! We went undefeated,
and won the championship!
5. After that, I decided to try out for
an AAU Basketball team in a
nearby town. We went to all kinds
of tournaments together.
6. In junior high, we had a huge
team, and we won two
championships!
7. When we finally got to high school
our team shrunk, but still the four
of us played together, and had a
lot of fun.
8. Senior year, we took our team to
the State Finals and lost in double
overtime, by two points.
9. Although we did not win finals, I
would not trade the team or town I
played for with anyone. We had the
biggest support system I could
have ever imagined especially for
how small our town is.
10. I am so glad I had a great role
model like my brother to get me
interested in basketball.
11. I encourage anyone in elementary,
middle, or even high school to join
a sport. It doesn’t have to be
basketball; it could be soccer,
football, hockey, tennis, dance or
anything that your school has to
offer. Sports teach you
determination, and dedication, and
from them you will make amazing
memories, and even better friends.
