Utah Opera’s Creative Community
◦ Utah Opera will collaborate with artists and artisans
over a wide range of disciplines to produce events
that celebrate the wealth of creative artists in our
community. We will reach broad and varied
populations who otherwise may not realize the
natural alignments that exist between opera and
their own forms of creative expression and
craftsmanship.
4. Craft Lake City workshop with a Utah Opera
Scene Shop Craftsman.
Panel featuring AIGA graphic designers, co-
hosted by Adobe; showcase design elements of
opera and engage graphic designers in creating
work inspired by 2015-16 season
Demo sports audio equipment from Skull Candy
with a ski event featuring recorded opera hits
and skiing with Utah Opera resident artists.
Libretti and Libations; Partner restaurants create
signature cocktails inspired by 2015-16 Opera
Season and serve during production months.
Promoted and featured in Salt Lake Magazine.
5. Assemble volunteer council, consisting of
thought and trend leaders in various
disciplines that Utah Opera would like to
connect with.
◦ Goal to schedule first meeting between June 1st –
July 1st.
Hire part-time program coordinator to run
administrative and logistical planning.
6. Engage large pools of people (aim for events
that reach a minimum of 100 people)
◦ Collect contact information and follow-up with
targeted marketing and special offers
◦ Measure response rate to direct marketing
◦ Measure retention over time/repeat patrons
◦ Collect data around which events or industries had
the most cross-over success
