Media Psychology?
✘Media psychology is branch of psychology that
focuses on the relationships between media and
human behavior. This applies to individuals and
society as a whole.
✘It analyses how media affects people and how they
perceive certain elements of the media.
✘It can also be used to determine what can be
changed in media to give people a more pleasant
experience.
Why do we need?
✘We are a media-centric society today. No matter
how much some people hate to admit it, the media
really does affect all of us, in some way or another as
we're surrounded by it most of the time.
✘We need an answer to ‘Impact of media on people’.
✘Media Psychology could be used to create more
positive media experiences.
✘It plays an important role for Marketing and
Advertising.
What they do?
Media psychologists are generally researchers. They study the imapact of
various types of media on people. They often observe and interview people
on their reaction to certain type of media.
They may work as a professional marketing consulatant or anything
releating to media.
One of the most common places that media psychologists can be found is
in broadcasting companies, such as television, radio, and movie studios.
They might also be able to find employment in marketing and advertising
firms as well. The education sector also has a need for media
psychologists.
