Oracle Autonomous Database is actually a family of products with each member of the familyoptimized by workload. The first member of the family to become available in March of this year
was the Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW), which has been optimized for analytic workloads, such as data warehouse, data marts or as part of a data lake.
The second member of the family that’s just become available is Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP).
ATP is optimized for transaction processing or mixed workload environments and makes an excellent platformfor new application development.

Our SaaS teams are building digital assistant skills that are relevant to their own application. Think of a skill as a functionally specific chatbot. For example, the HCM team, with an new-hire onboarding skill, which as the name implies, can help onboard a new employee. A partner could build a new Skill for this purpose.
Out of the box skills from the HCM, ERP and CX teams are being rolled out 2019.
The SaaS developed skills can be further modified by the customer or partner to better meet the customer needs.
At the bottom right, you’ll see 3rd party. That means SI or ISVs can build their own unique skill, and deploy them to the Skills Store.
Middle – the Skills Store
Skills are deployed to the Digital Assistant Skills Store. This is where all the skills are catalogued. From here, within the ODA platform, you can select the skills you want to deploy to your own Digital Assistant.
Think of the Skills Store like the Apple AppStore. You can select apps from the AppStore and make them available to your mobile devices. Similarly, you add the skills you want to your own Digital Assistant.
Left side, Popular Conversational Channels
Shows a smart-phone and smart-speaker. Our Digital Assistant can be deployed to various targets devices including Slack, SMS messaging, Facebook Messenger, Alexa devices, etc.
The reason Digital Assistant as a platform is key to be able to bring together multiple skills under one digital assistant. By having one DA, it can be the central point of contact to access all kinds of skills. That’s better than having to find the skill of interest, as it could become a mess. Just as many peoples smartphones have more apps that they can use, a central digital assistant can manage access to multiple chatbots (aka skills)
