Unit 15 Overview
2. CAMPAIGN MESSAGE
The campaign message for my music festival is to get young people
from all over the world to join together as unity and enjoy the music
they love as one. The great thing about my festival is there is so many
different types of music, so there will be different stages and artists for
everyone, and you can listen to whatever music you are feeling on the
day and don’t have to be forced to listen to one genre for the week.
The USP of my festival is that fact that its abroad, as my festival will
be in Spain so as week as the music being great the weather will also
be amazing, and I think this could really draw in a wider audience as
its a complete different experience having a festival abroad, as its like
being on holiday and going to a festival at the same time. Also I think I
will get a lot more tickets sold doing it abroad as people may even
choose to go to my festival instead of booking a holiday, as its pretty
much like you'll be on holiday anyway so this will be a great way of
gaining more audience to my festival.
3. SURVEY MONKEY
The first question I asked was about the best feature on my poster, and
like I expected it was color scheme as the most people picked this one
and when creating my poster this was the feature that I was concentrating
on a lot as I wanted to chose colors that would appeal to both females
and males and to the right target audience.
4. SURVEY MONKEY
This question just reassures that my poster was made to a high quality
and that people liked it very much as every vote I got was either 8
stars or 9 stars so I had an overall score of 8.5/10 which I was happy
with, so now I will improve anything they didn't’t think was good in
order to try make it a 10 star poster.
5. SURVEY MONKEY
I asked this question in order to make sure that I produced a pitch that was
packed with all of the correct information I needed, and most people said that I
involved everything. However two people pointed out that I forgot first of all
sponsors in my pitch and also social media links so I will now put these into my
pitch and then it will have everything it needs.
6. SURVEY MONKEY
These were the best responses that I could have gained as feedback as every
single person that filled in my survey monkey thought that it carried the same high
quality and professional feel as my poster of inspiration. This also means that I
must appeal to the same target audience bring the same vibe as my inspiration
poster which is what I intended.
7. SURVEY MONKEY
When I asked people for all different ages do they think my poster
appeals to the right target audience everyone said yes, the fact that
they are all different ages makes it less bias and also means that I did
a really good job in matching the features on my poster to the chosen
target audience.
10. SAFE WORKING
PRACTICES -PROOF
READING AND SUB
EDITING
In order to make sure my work is as professional and high quality as
possible I sent my work through to the “True Editors” company. The
reason I chose this company is as you can see they are available 24/7
and its at an affordable price. What I had to do was send my work
through to them and then within a few days they sent my work back
with all corrected errors such as spelling mistakes or sentences that
don’t make sense.

12. OWN PHOTOS
I have decided to take my pictures of the artist chosen while he is actually
preforming live, as this will then give the audience an insight into what the artist is
like and will build up the excitement as they will also want to see them preform live
and will be able to do so at the festival.
14. SAFE WORKING
PRACTICES
Before I took my own photos I made sure I filled out a two page risk assessment to ensure
that I know exactly what the environment will be like as well as making sure I know all of the
risks that could occur, furthermore this also ensured that I got all the tasks needed completed
done.
16. CHANGES MADE
The first change I made to my poster was to bring the date and
location of the festival to the center of the poster in order to
make it fit in with the other features and components. I also
made the writing all centered in order to make it more
professional and line up with other features on the poster.
17. CHANGES MADE
(CONTINUED)
The second change I made was
that I made sure that I added
four images onto each side as
this ensured that the left and
right side looked symmetrical
as this helped the poster carry
the professional feel.
Furthermore when I had three
on one side and four on the
other all the images where
different sizes and made the
poster look very bad quality so
this simple change enhances
the quality.
18. COMPARISON – COPIED
FEATURES
The features that I relayed from my poster of inspiration to my poster are things such as the pictures down
either side of the poster and I chose to copy this as I feel it’s a good way to show the audience little snippets
of what they will be experiencing at my festival. Another feature I copied was the pink and purple boxes that
the artists were in as I think this was a good way to make the artists stand out as the white text works for
contrasting colors with the pink and purple. Lastly I chose to also use the wooded beach sign as this festival
is in a foreign country and these beach signs remind and connote to the audience that they will be spending
a week in the sun by the beach and this is a good technique to draw them in as they get top enjoy a beach
and a festival.
19. COMPARISONS –
DIFFERENT FEATURES
The first feature that I changed was I didn't’t use the cartoon girls on either
side of the poster I decided to add a pink and blue paint slash instead, which
connotes the paint party that takes place during the festival. Also I used a
different crowd at the bottom of my poster as I wanted to make sure it looked
like a crowd that would appeal to my
20. LEGAL AND ETHICAL
The Advertising Standards Authority is the UK’s independent regulator
of advertising across all media. We apply the Advertising Codes,
which are written by the Committees of Advertising Practice. Our work
includes acting on complaints and proactively checking the media to
take action against misleading, harmful or offensive advertisements.
If they judge an ad to be in breach of the UK Advertising Codes, it
must be withdrawn or amended and the advertiser must not use the
approach again. Each year they consider over 30,000 complaints
about around 20,000 ads.

This links to ‘Innovation’ festival because when adverting their
magazine they have to make sure that it fits within the regulation of the
ASA otherwise it will be withdrawn by this association.
21. LEGAL AND ETHICAL
Copyright -
Copyright is a legal means of protecting an author's work. It is a
type of intellectual property that provides exclusive publication,
distribution, and usage rights for the author. This is the
exclusive and assignable legal right, given to the originator for a
fixed number of years, to print, publish, perform, film, or record
literary, artistic, or musical material.
This means whatever content the author created cannot be
used or published by anyone else without the consent of
the author.

22. LEGAL AND ETHICAL
CONSTRAINTS -
COPYRIGHT
I have put the copyright symbol in the bottom corner of my festival
poster and this is so that my poster is protected and cannot be used
by anyone lese unless I have granted them permission and given
them consent to used my work where they want to use it. This is good
because if someone has used my work anywhere without my
permission without this logo on the bottom right, I have no ownership
of the works and cannot do anything about it, where as with this
symbol is I see someone use it without my consent I am able to report
it to higher authorities where they will deal with the situation and get
my work back safely.
23. L01(P1) - LEGAL AND
ETHICAL (OFCOM)
So as this says on the ‘Ofcom’ website they are the company that regulate things such as TV, radio and mobiles.
They make sure that people in the UK get the best from their communications services and are protected from scams
and sharp practices, while ensuring that competition can thrive.
The Communications Act says that ‘Ofcom’s’ principal duty is to further the interests of citizens and of consumers,
where appropriate by promoting competition. Meeting this duty is at the heart of everything the company do.
Their main legal duties are to ensure:
- viewers of video on demand services are protected from harmful content;
They are not responsible for regulating:
- newspapers and magazines

My poster meets all of the legal and ethical requirements needed for a poster to be published.
24. CONCLUSION
In this learning objective I gained feedback on my poster
through both presenting my pitch and creating a questionnaire
with various questions about aspects of my poster. This
feedback then gave me the chance to act upon my work in
order to make sure that everything was to the best standard
and other things such as my poster fitting to the right target
audience. I made a few changes to my poster which I got told to
do through my witness statement and this meant I have a top
quality festival poster.
