2. 1. GOD UP 2. GOD IN 3. GOD OUT
GOD UP means your relationship with God
ex. Reading your Bible, Praying, going to
church and learning about him.
3. GOD IN
This means spending time with other
Christians.
4. GOD OUT
This means spending time with nonbelievers
and reaching out to them, so they can come to
know Christ.
A Christian can only succeed in this if his
GOD UP is very strong, and if his GOD IN is
well balanced with his GOD OUT
5. Then why do we Christians seem to
abandon or discriminate nonbelievers
who maybe once were our friends.
We shouldn´t because we are supposed
to reach out to nonbelievers so they can
come to know Christ.
6. Now this is a question that I have been
asked.
If a Christian asks a nonbeliever to go to church
with him, and the nonbeliever goes. Then the
nonbeliever asks that Christian to go to a party
or something like that with him, why does the
Christian refuse to go and seem to discriminate
the nonbeliever for that.
7. Well we as Christians are not obligated to go
to the party, but why can´t we go just to be a
testimony to others. We can be a light there,
and if the others are getting drunk or doing
other bad things we can abstain from that and
show others that Christ lives in us.
8. For even Jesus did that in Luke 5:29-32
29Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house,
and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were
eating with them. 30But the Pharisees and the teachers
of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his
disciples, "Why do you eat and drink with tax
collectors and 'sinners'?"
31Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need
a doctor, but the sick. 32I have not come to call the
righteous, but sinners to repentance."
9. Levi was a tax collector and tax collectors back
then were seen as very bad persons. You can
see in these verses that even the Pharisees and
the teachers of the law, who were persons that
knew God´s word and laws very well,
discriminated nonbelievers, but Jesus didn´t.
Jesus wasn´t doing anything wrong. He was
just spending time with nonbelievers and being
a light to them and preaching to them. There is
nothing wrong in doing this.
10. This is a message for us Christians including
me for all of us have done this. We as
Christians have to change we have to try to
make nonbelievers come to know Christ and
we have to stop discriminating or judging
them.
For in Mathew 7:2 it says
For in the same way you judge others, you will
be judged, and with the measure you use, it
will be measured to you.
11. My intension is not to offend anyone but to
show you were we as Christians are failing.
For it is written in Proverbs 9:8-9
8 Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you;
rebuke a wise man and he will love you.
9 Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still;
teach a righteous man and he will add to
his learning.
