HARVEST OF GENEROSITY NEWS!
Student Harvest Days are on Tuesday’s from 10 am-3 pm at Parkside.
Join us as we have a blast serving the community! Some things you may
experience are: games, gardening, devotion, food, water balloons, volunteering and
lots of fun! Student Days continue through the week of August 22. For more

People of all ages and skills are encouraged to come together and work in the Harvest

FAMILY BIBLE HOUR NEEDS
We are in need of a Family Bible Hour teacher and aide for K-1st
grade and an aide for 2nd-3rd grade. Curriculum will be provided.
Some lesson planning required, approximately 1-2 hours a week. If

HYMN SING Join us tonight for our last summer hymn sing from 6-7 pm for
a great time of fellowship and sharing around the Lord Jesus Christ through
the avenue of music. Bring a heart of joy! We meet in the NW classroom in
the new addition.
PARKSIDE PEDDLERS The next Parkside’s Bicycle Club outing will be
this Thursday, August 4, at 6:30 pm. Meet at Kouw Park, a Port Sheldon
Township Park, located at Lakeshore Drive and Van Buren.
COOKOUT AT THE SPYKERMANS All are invited to Pastor Gary & Sue’s
home (3916 Tall Grass East Court in Holland) on Thursday, August 11, from
6-8 pm. Bring a dish to pass and a lawn chair. Meat and drinks will be
provided. Lawn games and a hot tub are available plus a fire pit for s’mores!
No need to RSVP - just show up for a fun evening with your church friends
LADIES DINNER & GAME NIGHT Please join other ladies and their friends
on Friday, August 19, at 5:30 p.m. for supper at the Farmhouse in Zeeland
then come back to the church for simple games and snacks. Sign up at the
Women’s Ministry Counter.
YOUNG MARRIED COUPLES EVENT An “adventure” for Parkside’s young
married couples and their children is planned for Saturday, August 20, at
Sandy Pines located midway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo
(3681 28th Street in Dorr.) Mini-golf, a water park and splash pad, ice
cream, beach & family fun, and human fooseball are available. Bring your
own picnic lunch, a side dish to pass for dinner and $20 per family to cover
costs. The church van will be leaving at 9:45 am and returning at 8:00 p.m.
(Or drive on your own and arrive at Sandy Pines at 11 a.m.) We will have
youth available to help with children if needed. RSVP by August 14 to
Pastor Gary or the church office. (Rain date - August 27.)

PARKSIDE BOOK CLUB
This Wednesday, August 3, from 6:30-7:30 p.m., we will be holding our Book
Club in the Board Room led by Tim Derks. We are reviewing the book “Where Is
God When It Hurts?” by Philip Yancey. Please contact the church office if you
would like to purchase a book for $6. Even if you only have time to read a few
paragraphs, you are welcome to attend. For those who can read the entire
section each week, simply highlight the sentences that you find meaningful, and we
will use those quotes for the discussion. The assignment for August 3 is Chapters
5-8 and the topic is “Is pain a message from God?” There will be no reviews next
Wednesday but additional meetings are scheduled on 8/17, 8/24 and 8/31.
