To whom this may concern:
I would like to take a few minutes to introduce myself, my work, and how I may fit into the your
company’s design machine.
Until recently, I have been an exhibit/experience/interactive designer for George P. Johnson Company, one
of the largest and most respected in the industry. At GPJ, projects I have completed include exhibits for auto
shows and trade shows, experience tours, mobile marketing tours, and hands-on technology interactives as well as
retail design and Graphic User Interface design. Most projects were conducted in a “team” format starting with
initial brainstorming sessions, design development, engineering/production, and finally the finished product. I have
also had many opportunities to lead teams on projects such as the 2010 Camaro Launch Modular-Retail Solutions,
Pontiac NHRA Racing Mobile Tour, and 2009 North American International Auto Show ChevroletVolt and
Cadillac EREV electric vehicle feature experiences among others.
Before George P. Johnson, I freelanced at Exhibit Works as a designer for full show exhibits and exhibit
components, worked at Alps Automotive as a product designer on functional automotive prototypes, and as an
in-house designer/fabricator for a smalltown motorcycle shop.
I would like the opportunity to enhance and advance my career with your company. My strongest skills
include sketching, team brainstorming, model-making/prototyping, and three-dimensional rendering. I am very
familiar with the engineering, production, and machining processes and have developed a quick learning ability and
a passion for design on all levels. I also posess a young brain that combines youthful ideas and fresh concepts with
a mature and open-minded approach to the design process.
Thank you for this opportunity and I hope you consider my inquiry for potential employment.
