1. Skills. Prodigy: Omen, Music video

2. Programmes. I used Photoshop before because I take graphic design. This means that I was familiar with the software. Therefore I thought that creating the ancillary tasks was quite easy. I also used Final cut express, it took me a while to get used to this programme because I had never used it before. I had help with the staff and the person that was in my group because they had experience with using a similar software. We had tutorials on the software we were using so it was easy to figure out how to use it.

3. How We Used The Software. We used Photoshop to change the brightness, pixel levels and size of our photos that we were going to use. I used InDesign to create the layout of our CD Cover and magazine advertisement. The main programme we used was final cut express, we used this to edit the footage we had to make the video. We used the software in this way because it makes the finished products look more realistic and professional and I think that is a key ingredient for products like these to survive in the music industry.

4. Cameras. We used Digital cameras to set our location and ancillary tasks. The cameras we used for this were Panasonic lumix’s. These cameras were easy to use and took great pictures, we could set the settings on anti-shake and it would capture someone moving very fast. E.g. The inside of our CD cover shows this. We also used Video cameras. The video cameras were not as good a model as the lumix’s but I thought that they were quite easy to use and therefore we managed to record our film no problem.

5. Websites Used. http://www.dafont.com/loserboi-grunge.font This website is full of free fonts you can use for your work. We used some of these fonts for our ancillary tasks. http://www.brusheezy.com/brush/1310-Abstract-Smudge-Brushes On this website there are Photoshop brushes that can be used for work use only. I downloaded a set of grunge brushes to use on our ancillary tasks.

6. Blogger We started researching into ways of editing. We looked at A coronation street advert where Tony’s head is moving very fast (fast editing). We posted videos like this on blogger where we could view them all on the same page. I also found images which we found can be easily posted onto blogger aswell. I think that blogger is a good way to show our coursework because it can be neatly sorted and more people can view it.

7. Blogger cont... I think that blogger was useful for our planning because we could set out polls, comment boxes and video bars for people to view and leave what they thought about it. It was useful for research because we could place it all together so it would look neat and we could find it easily if we wished to refer back to it.

8. Summing up... I thought that I used certain skills well like: Editing on Final cut express Managing and manipulating photos on Photoshop Using YouTube and Blogger Creating layouts on InDesign. Taking good location stills and pictures for our ancillary tasks. And finally actually filming our work.
