Here, as Pheng Laogumnerd Travel Expert, we are here to tell you that blogging a lot easier than you think. Firstly, try and be different. This is probably harder said than done as every spectacular sight-seeing spot has been covered by some other blogger and quite rightly – they’re popular for a reason. Yet, a little secret straight from Pheng Laogumnerd Travel will tell you this: disperse your typical cultural site posts with unique destinations and hidden restaurants. Furthermore, don’t just rely on pictures. While I should mention that having a decent camera is necessary, that doesn’t mean that the written aspect of your blog can be neglected. You have to ensure that spelling, grammar and the overall tone of your posts are all accurate. Alongside this, do note that information is key – people don’t just wish to see a pretty image and not gain any insight into that spot or details about how to visit it themselves. A lot of people make the mistake when they start a travel blog to just write and write and write and hope that it will gain hits. However, as founder of Pheng Laogumnerd Travel, I can tell you that there are sites in the world that people do not want to read lengthy posts on, particularly when you are just writing for the sake of it. Instead, write about what you love and have a passion for – this will, in turn, seep into your writing and that is a lot more powerful. Lastly, have fun. Travel blogging is a chance to reminisce on all those amazing trips you’ve enjoyed and the ones you have yet to come – what’s better than that? Be open to trying new things, exploring hidden destinations and meeting new people and cultures. A lot of the time, writing a travel blog can actually make you do things you wouldn’t normally partake in.
