3. Technique A questionnaire was distributed to grade 9 students (14-15 years old) in turkey. A questionnaire was constructed comprising seven open-ended questions design to test students’ conception about important areas of plant biology.
4. Concept Photosynthesis: process that coverts light energy into chemical energy of sugars and other organic compound in green plant. Nutrition: process by which an organism obtains food which is used to provide energy and materials for its life sustaining activities.
10. Misconception Many students do not understand that plants absorb carbon dioxide and water to produce organic materials. Most of students have misconception that living organisms obtain energy by means other than by photosynthesis or food intake. Students understand the need for water, air and sunlight by plants. But they fail to understand why these materials are important and how they are part of the production of ‘food’.
