Our Payroll Management System is designed to make the administration and management of employee’s
payroll easy and efficient. It is a web-based system, fast, reliable and extensible to suit the needs of small to large
organizations. There are various easily customizable parameters at the user level for allowances, deductions etc.
The system takes care of TDS, employee’s investment details, leave, overtime, loans and advances, LOPs etc. All
statutory reports towards Provident Fund, ESIC, Professional Tax, Income Tax etc. can be generated from the
system itself.

Objective and standardized approach to the Appraisal process throughout your entire organization. Unlimited
number of criteria with their respective “weights” in the appraisal process can be set for each profile within each
dept.: user-defined appraisal criteria, value for each criterion, appraisal sessions, individual appraisal findings,
overall grading based on values and recommended actions.
Performance management is the process of tracking performance against goals while identifying opportunities for
improvement. A lot of managers think that performance management is just about looking at the past when in fact,
it is about the future.
The Performance Review module commences with establishing Performance Plans. The system allows for three
ways to construct the Goals for the Plans:
Employees can draft their own Performance Plans for approval by their supervisor Supervisors can write
Performance Plans for their team members, ideally using a consultative approach.
Your Company Administrator can centrally develop the Performance Plans in consultation with managers.
The next step in the model is to identify any Learning & Development needs of employees, to equip them to
deliver the Performance Plan outcomes. Learning & Development Plans are defined and managed through
the Learning module.
Supervisors then monitor employees’ progress towards goal achievement, providing coaching where
necessary and recording initiatives in the Coaching module.
At the end of the review cycle, performance outcomes are rated and results reported. The Performance
Review module allows for the optional calculation of incentives based on performance results.
The module also contains a Talent Development section where supervisors define the talent potential of
their people and outline development plans for targeted people. Talent Development assessment outcomes
are then used as feed-in source data for the development of Succession Plans, using the Succession
Planning module.

Security Concepts
Each user accessing the SmartHR has a user ID, and each user ID is associated with a password. You probably want
to establish the same level of security access for a group of users (not just one user), and the application lets you
create security groups and establish security access right for each group. A security group is a collection of one or
more user with the same access rights. Each security group has a name, and each user (other than the system
administrator) is a member of a group. In order to assign individual users to a group, user groups must be defined
through the user group definition form. This entity is used to segregate users into groups for ease of access
management, where a group of users that need to have the same access level are segregated into one group.
Audit Trail Management System
Combined with the security system is an Audit Trail Management System that enables the user to track and monitor
all changes made to the organization data by any user.
Reporting
SmartHR Applications provide a large number of pre-built standard HR reports in support of management,
programming and operations reporting. Additionally any Reporting tool such as Crystal Reports can be used to
generate user-specific reports.
