The poem discusses Parmenides' philosophy that "it cannot not be" and describes natural disasters that occurred in Japan in 2011 and unknown locations in 2012. It also describes the poet's daughters admiring geometric shapes and each other while safely in a mountain cottage during the floods, alluding to Parmenides' ideas about geometry and changeless being.
1. AEIDEIN
PARMENIDES by YVETTE MARIE
The world has started to MOVE
With time and geometrical motion;
Geometry and Faces-
Whenever it gets a notion.
Japan suffered great disaster, March 2011-
An 8.9 earthquake-tsunami
Left a 15,000 Anime' youtube void.
ESTI Parmenedes- "IT CANNOT NOT BE".
Although, I never visited Elea, Italy.
January 2012, SCIENTIFIC SO poured 2 floods
Upon 2 unknown geographical locations.
I stood safely in a mountain cottage with my daughters-
Talking geometry; philosophy.
Golden Boxes my eldest held-
Her younger sisters pray admiration to each other
And their Mother.
Vaughn and I both have SENSE to SEE dawn carry time-
Like a Parmenidian still shot of Plenum!
