1. Path Essay : My Career Path
My Career Path I remember having a normal childhood until I was four years old. At this age, I
recall quite emphatically, a series of events that would soon change my life forever. In May of
1972, our home started on fire and burned to the ground. I can still see the flames and hear the
popping and cracking sounds of the fire, as I sat on my sister's lap inside our car and watched this
horrible event. We lost everything, but still we had each other. That changed however, three
months later when my dad had a massive heart attack and died. I was only four years old, but I
can reflect upon the day's events as if they happened yesterday. This stage of Industry vs.
Inferiority became the first stage of Erikson's theory that changed my personality (Kidrowski,
2017). The death of my father changed our family dynamics as my mom fell into a deep depression
and one year later tried to commit suicide. She didn't succeed, but for years I felt she wished she
had, because many attempts were made throughout the course of my childhood without success.
In kindergarten, I met my friend Marie, soon we became the best of friends and we spent lots of
time together. If I wasn't at her house she was at mine. I used to wish I was her because she had
her dad and was an only child which allowed for all her parent's attention. After about a year of
being friends, and spending lots of time together, I no longer wished for this as her dad started to
sexually abuse me. This continued until

2. I Have Changed My Career Path Essay
Already in the three years I have been attending Loyola, I have changed my career path so many
times. I enrolled as a Biology major in the pre–medicine program, switched to an International
Studies major sophomore year, and then again changed my major to Psychology. As I had planned
on going to medical school since freshman year of high school, I felt very lost when I finally
decided to study Psychology, since there is so much variability in the field. Even as a senior, I have
some ideas about possible career paths, but am still not sure exactly what I would like to do in the
realm of Psychology. Thankfully, I have learned a lot about my interests through the internship I
currently have. I was able to use exercise 11.1 in Kiser's chapter 11 to reflect more upon what I have
learned, and what is next for me.
Through this internship, I have learned more about myself and what I enjoy doing. For example, I
learned that I actually enjoy participating in different aspects of research such as scoring data
analyzing how the data applies to clinical settings and real world matters. This came as a slight
surprise to me, as I thought I would get bored with my tasks early on and regret choosing the
internship site that I did. However, I could see myself writing up grants and conducting research for
an organization as a possible future career path. I have even decided to extend my internship by
continuing to volunteer throughout next semester as well. Another surprise came in the form of

3. Choosing a Career Essay
My whole life I have always wanted to do something where people will remember me. I went
threw millions of career choices before I came to the conclusion of a nurse. It's not something
that will get me into History books, but its something where all the people I help will remember
what I did to care for them or their loved ones. My mom went to school to become and RN, but
dropped out when she became pregnant with me. After that story was told to me, I didn't want to be
anything related to nursing. It wasn't until my step mom went to school to be LPN that I realized it
would be possible for me to do. I saw how much happiness it gave her, and I want the same thing.
She loved helping the patients by treating them, and helping their families...show more content...
It is a program that is based on the health career field, especially nursing. I have this course for
three classes a day and it takes up most of my school day. These classes have given me invaluable
information and training that will be very useful in my collage courses. My volunteer work at the
Veterans Hospital will also help me with becoming a RN because it is sort of like on–the–job
training. I get to experience working with patients, in a real hospital setting. My step mom has lots
of her old nursing books from her LPN training. I frequently look into them to help me with my
Diversified Health Occupations homework, and sometime just to see how something works, or is
done. Everyone knows that health careers tend to make a decent amount of money, but according to
the Bureau of Labor Statistics, "the average amount of money that an RN makes is between
$47,710 and $69,850" (Registered Nurses). You typically work about fifty to sixty hours a week, on
a normal shift. Meaning, 7a.m. to 3p.m., 3 p.m. to11 p.m. and 11p.m–7a.m. During your shift you
will have to treat patients, educate the patient on how to care for themselves properly, provide
assistance and emotional support for the patients and the families of the patients, administer
medication, provide rehabilitation, use medical machinery, record symptoms and medical history,
as well as do follow up follow up records. As I learned from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, RN's

4. An Architect As A Future Career
I am most interested in being an Architect as a future career. An Architect plan and design houses,
factories and any other structures. This kind of matches my career workstyles because my
number one work style was investigative and this somewhat matches it because I guess this job
could involve some of that because all the new stuff you learn from it but it 's more of a creative
job, which was my second highest one. It's more of a creative job because you 're building things
and drawing and you need to be very creative to do that (which I am) and you need to be creative
because this job requires a lot of thinking. When you build the models you need to think about all
kinds of things like is it safe, is it built right and many more questions you will need to constantly
ask yourself. I want to be an Architect because I always wanted to design my own house. I wanted to
be an Architect for a while now. I have always liked building and designing things and just being
able to see the finished process, so this is why I want to be an Architect. An Architect helps designs
houses for people or for a business. He does this by using a computer program, doing it on paper or
making a 3D model of the house. I would enjoy this job because I like to draw and use a computer
and I like to help build things. This relates to my work behavior style because I will be getting paid
good and I don 't have designated hours to work on it, I would just need to have it done before a
certain time.

5. Essay about Choosing a Right Career Path
Choosing a right career path can be tough. Especially, when the parents are involved. Parents want
their children to have a better life in the future so they want their children to be educated. When
they are successfully graduate from the college they can get a high paying job and earn much
more than their parents. However, does everyone listen and follow their parents' decisions about
the career? What happen if kids didn't want what their parents told them to do? Is there a
compromise and or one side needs to give in? It was a tough decision for me too. There was a lot
of pressure on me. I was hesitated and somehow worried when my parents were involved, but I

My explanation somehow did not work well. I started struggling between my career and my father's
"career". Before it was too late to decide my major, I gave a chance for myself and picked something
related to my future career. Before I told my parents I had decided to be a graphic designer, I did a
little research on the job. It was good, but required lots experiences to get in a decent game company
like Riot. But I did not stick with one job. I also heard of 3D modeling, programming and animation
were good choices for me and I liked them too. I decided to go to City Tech College for four years
education in Emerging Media major and I hoped I could get a job I like to do. According to the
article "As Income Gap Widens, New York Grows Apart" written by James Parrott, college educated
young workers' earning has fallen 6% since 1990. And it's false that those who pursue higher
education and skills can get a higher economic reword. Everything is competitive now; the value
of education does not count toward our future income earning. I realize that even if I graduated
from the college there was higher chance I would not have a job or a job that I did not expect and
paid very low. However, I do like what I do right now in my major class. I think if you did what you
want and be happy with it, it doesn't matter how low you get paid you still fulfill in your life. After

occurred that have made my life even harder. When I turned 13, my parents decided to send me to

However, based on all of the stages been discussed earlier, people in the mid–forties to mid–fifties
are at a different stage in their career and life than people that is at age 25 or 45. A careerchange
after age 40 can be a tricky situation. In this stage, people will decide whether to continue along
the same track because it is comfortable familiar and secure or change into the other career since
there is an opportunity to pursue new personal or professional goals. This stage is called as middle
career years or mid–career change. According to OUM textbook, mid–career means re–appraise
early career and early adulthood, reaffirm or modify goals, make choices appropriate to middle adult

current job in order to take work in an organization that might indicate promise of greater career
fulfillment or address a need for increased salary or benefits, intrinsic and extrinsic (WordWeb).
After 40, many people begin to look at life differently which they often begin to feel that life really
is too short to be stuck in a dead–end or unsatisfying job. In this middle age situation, it is a time in
which adults take on new responsibilities at the workplace and therefore, people of this age often

12. Why I Chose The Career Path
When asking yourself why you chose the career path you have chosen it's easy to say you did this
because you "like it". However, when it comes to the area of education that cannot be your only
reason as to why you chose this pathway and a desire to work with children is not a valid reason
either. I am willing to say, that I started on this path for that very reason. I spent my high school
years babysitting the neighbor's kids and spent my summers being a counselor at the local camp and
thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. This lead me to believe, that because I enjoyed working with
children from toddlers to school age, that would be enough to get me through this career. I am
delighted to say, that while participating in my education classes and experiencing what it is like to
work in a Preschool classroom, my reasoning's for why I am continue down this route has
transformed. Preschool teachers must have a creative mindset when working in the classroom to
ensure that what they are teaching is memorable for their young students. When focusing on
educating young children it is important to realize that the curriculum will be vast, but not in depth
(breadth). This gives teachers the ability to make a lesson plan fun and interesting for their students.
However, it is imperative to remember that not all students learn the same way and have different
interests, it is vital to always have a back–up method of teaching a subject. An important reminder,

15. Career Reflection Essay : Finding A Career Path
Finding a specific career path can not only be difficult, but it can also induce bouts of anxiety,
anger, and sadness over a crucial part of an individual's life. Settling on a career can be unnerving
when thinking about the fact that this is the career that you spend thousands of dollars on in
college, that this is the career you will work in until you retire. With this course, I've found that it
has been easier to narrow down a goal towards finding a career. Through career assessments,
different assignments and discussions, I have realized what my barriers and strengths are.
Overcoming these and improving these skills or applying them to an actual career assisted me in

career goal and to think clearer about the next steps that I will take after this course.
Though I have known for a few months the basic path I have wanted to take regarding my career,
