Each time an employee leaves an organization it involves an expense for the company for hiring
the new employee that could replace him, the new employee’s training costs and the over time,
expense that has to be paid to other employees till the new employee is trained to perform the
tasks fully. All these account for attrition costs when an employee leaves an organization. Apart

history of two past employees (in case the candidate is experienced). Bank statements can also
act as proof for checking last drawn salary and should be checked for further accuracy of
documents.
2. Education Certificate Check – Lots of times students furnish degrees with wrong
marks or year of completion so as to get a desired job. So the credibility of the education
certificate must be checked by getting touch with the educational institution of the
student. If you can verify all the certificates and degrees mentioned in the resume then
nothing like it, but at least verifying the highest degree of the candidate is advisable.
3. Certificate Verification – The additional certificates that candidates furnish while
applying for a job can be fake and hence should also be verified by every employer.
Some of these certifications include SCJP, SAP, SAS, Linux, PMP etc. The verification
can be done by contacting the issuer of the certificate either physically or online.
4. Criminal Verification – This verification is one of the most important. HR of every
organization cannot verify the criminal records of every individual as they do not have

police station and gets the records verified personally.
5. Address Verification – This involves verifying the address of the individual so that the
company can get in touch with family of the candidate in case of any mishap. Preferably
both the permanent address as well as the temporary address should be verified.
