Robert asks…
what is the fastest way to go to Johor Bahru from Singapore and
vice versa?
because i am considering to stay in Johor Bahru at night so hotels will be cheaper and then
tour singapore during the day. is this a good idea or too tiring and stressful?
Cuti-cuti Malaysia answers:
It depends on your mode of travelling and when you plan to travel. The Woodlands checkpoint
is always having a perpetual traffic jam especially during peak hours or weekends.
The best bet is to stay at Hotel 81 or budget hotels in Singapore and tour Singapore from there.
Hotel prices ranges from SGD 60 – 130++ for those budget hotels.
If you still want to choose to stay in JB, consider the time wasted for travelling, your travel fares
be it taxi / public bus and the hassle of going thru immigration. It may just add up to the same
amount. JB is reputed to have a high crime rate, so it is a little dangerous to travel back there at
night especially if you’re a tourist and do not know your way around.
Hope this helps. Cheers!

Nancy asks…
Can we take taxi from Johor Bahru airport to Singapore? How
much is the cost?
And how about from the hotel? can we take a txi too from there to Singapore?
Cuti-cuti Malaysia answers:
Yes you can of coz, but be prepared to be slaughtered like a goat. There is no fixed taxi-fare fm
the airport or hotels.
Taxi from the airport to JB city centre starts from MYR$40 and to Spore starts from MYR$80 per
taxi depending on location. Buy a taxi coupon inside the airport terminal to be on the safer side.

5. Its advisable to go to the JB-Spore taxi terminal in front of KOTARAYA shopping complex. Its
MYR$25 per person to Queen’s street in spore.
Alternatively you can hire the whole taxi for MYR$100 for upto 4 passengers. Be sure to catch
your taxi fm the 1st floor of the taxi terminal.
Dont fall prey to pirate taxi outside the building offering to ferry you to any part of spore. They
use private cars and not taxi. You could end up with S$100-150 poorer. Just imagine the trouble
if you get caught in spore, or in case there is an accident, remember they are not registered to
ferry passenger.
Alternatively, you can use this (MYR$100) as a perimeter to negotiate a taxi fm the hotels,
anything above MYR$150 is overcharging. Remember, if you get a taxi from the hotels to any
part of spore, you will have to pay double of that, they will probably charge anything between
MYR$250-$300 reason is bcoz they must come back to JB with empty car as they are not
allowed to ferry passenger fm Spore-JB.
It is always safer and economical to catch the right taxi from the taxi terminal.
