 Controlling is the last function of management.
 Through controlling actual activities are conform to planned activities.
 Controlling is both forward looking and backward looking.
 Delegation of authority helps the controlling process.
 Controlling is goal oriented process.
 Controlling is a pervasive function.
Controlling is the process of ensuring that actual activities confront to planned activities. The importance
of control lies in the fact that it helps in accomplishing organisational objectives.
To develop an idea about the term ‘Controlling’ and enable them to understand the features of
controlling through Brain storming, Group Discussion, and enable students to prepare note based on it.
Learner should have an idea about “control”
 Usual class room aids like blackboard and chalk.

PHASE I : INTRODUCTORY PHASE
Activity (Brain storming)
After the usual class procedures teacher starts the class by revising what discussed in last classes in a
brief manner.

 Organizing
 Staffing
 Directing
 controlling
From the above discussion learner arrive at conclusion that “management function include planning,
organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling
Activity (general discussion)
Teacher shows certain pictures in projector through ppt
Students actively respond about the lead
points.
Students derived to the conclusion.
CLASS ROOM INTERACTION PROCEDURE/ACTIVITY PUPIL’S RESPONSE
Teacher then shared the following questions
oWhat the man doing in the above cases?
oWhy the above are driven by the drivers?
Concept to be concluded:
Controlling helps to reach the planned goal.
PHASE II: DEVELOPMENTAL STAGE
Teacher presents the definition of controlling in ppt and called five students one by one to read aloud.
Students are actively participated in the
general discussion.
Students read and by hearted the
definition.
Activity: (Group Discussion)
Teacher divides the class into five groups and allotted each point to them, asked them to
find out the relevance of each point in relation to controlling.

Controlling is the process of ensuring that actual activities confront to planned activities. The importance
of control lies in the fact that it helps in accomplishing organisational objectives.

PHASE III : CONCLUDING ACTIVITY
Teacher called three students and asked them to read the features aloud individually, one after other.

ICT lesson plan

  • 1. Name of the Teacher : Raison Sam Raju Standard : XII F Name of the School : GCTE, TVM Strength : 45/51 Subject : Business Studies Age : 17years Unit : Controlling Duration : 45 minutes Topic : Controlling-Meaning and Features Content Outline Controlling-Meaning and Features Content Analysis Terms Facts Concept Curricular objectives Pre- requisites Learning materials Learning strategy Management, Plan, Planning, Control, Controlling, objectives, Goals  Controlling is the last function of management.  Through controlling actual activities are conform to planned activities.  Controlling is both forward looking and backward looking.  Delegation of authority helps the controlling process.  Controlling is goal oriented process.  Controlling is a pervasive function. Controlling is the process of ensuring that actual activities confront to planned activities. The importance of control lies in the fact that it helps in accomplishing organisational objectives. To develop an idea about the term ‘Controlling’ and enable them to understand the features of controlling through Brain storming, Group Discussion, and enable students to prepare note based on it.   • 2. PHASE I : INTRODUCTORY PHASE Activity (Brain storming) After the usual class procedures teacher starts the class by revising what discussed in last classes in a brief manner. Lead points  Management functions  Planning  Organizing  Staffing  Directing  controlling From the above discussion learner arrive at conclusion that “management function include planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling Activity (general discussion) Teacher shows certain pictures in projector through ppt Students actively respond about the lead points.   • 3. Teacher then shared the following questions oWhat the man doing in the above cases? oWhy the above are driven by the drivers? Concept to be concluded: Controlling helps to reach the planned goal. PHASE II: DEVELOPMENTAL STAGE Teacher presents the definition of controlling in ppt and called five students one by one to read aloud. Students are actively participated in the general discussion. Students read and by hearted the definition.
  • 4. Activity: (Group Discussion) Teacher divides the class into five groups and allotted each point to them, asked them to find out the relevance of each point in relation to controlling. (PPT) Concepts to be consolidated Controlling is the process of ensuring that actual activities confront to planned activities. The importance of control lies in the fact that it helps in accomplishing organisational objectives. Students are actively participated in the group discussion.
  • 5. PHASE III : CONCLUDING ACTIVITY Teacher called three students and asked them to read the features aloud individually, one after other. Review Questions  What do you mean by Controlling?  What are the features of controlling? Follow up Activity Teacher said the students to prepare a note on topic ‘controlling : meaning and features” Students answered the questions.
