1. As we have entered in
2013, now is the right
time to kick start the
New Year with a dose of
possibility and
perspective… two
essential ingredients
for making this year
better than the last…!
Below are a few tips I
have recently read or reread that have inspired me. I believe these will
inspire you and help reinforce the mindset you need to succeed.
Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death.
Remember there’s no substitute for hard work.
Focus on “Get to” v/s “Have to.” Each day focus on what you get to do, not what
you have to do. Life is a gift not an obligation.
Pursue God-ordained passions.
Keep asking questions. Keep making mistakes. Keep seeking God.
Stop pointing out problems and become part of the solution. Implement the No
Complaining Rule. Remember that complaining is like vomiting. Afterwards you
feel better but everyone around you feels sick.
Stop repeating the past and start creating the future.
Instead of being disappointed about where you are, think optimistically about
where you are going.
Stop playing it safe and start taking risks.
Expand your horizons. Accumulate experiences.
Mentor someone and be mentored by someone.
Enjoy the journey.
Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past,
negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the
positive present moment.
Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can.
Live with the 3 E’s. Energy, Enthusiasm, Empathy.
Don’t let what’s wrong with you keep you from worshipping what’s right with God.
Burn sinful bridges. Blaze a new trail. Criticize by creating.
Worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks.
Don’t try to be who you’re not. Be yourself.
Smile and laugh more. They are natural anti-depressants.
Quit holding out. Quit holding back. Quit running away.
Read more books than you did in 2012.
Zoom Focus. Each day when you wake up in the morning ask: “What are the three
most important things I need to do today that will help me create the success I
desire?” Then tune out all the distractions and focus on these actions.
Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I am thankful
for __________. Today I accomplished____________.
