In case of virtual reality, a completely digital environment is created, whereas augmented reality has the ability to augment the real world environment with digital information. With the ability to significantly reduce the gaps between real and imaginary digital world, augmented reality is expected to transform the world in near future. Snapchat filters, Pokémon Go, Google sky map are some of the best examples of the application of augmented reality. As per Statista, Augmented reality would generate a revenue of USD 118 Billion from AR devices and USD 68 Billion from AR services.

Virtual Reality enable users to experience an immersive three-dimensional computer generated environment with amalgamation of interactive hardware and software. This technology simply creates a stimulated environment with the aid of computational technologies, taking the users out of the real world to creatively crafted artificial environment. Today, there are several promising inventions around virtual reality and some of them are VR Headsets. McDonald’s happy goggles, 360 degree videos on Facebook and YouTube, Volvo Test Drive VR, and Alibaba’s VR shopping experience.
