Lebanon generates 95% of its electricity from oil and only 5% from hydropower, and its electricity grid needs updating to support renewable energy. A CEDRO-UNDP project aims to create renewable energy projects including wind, install solar water heaters and photovoltaic panels, and spread energy efficiency through workshops. A wind atlas funded by the project will assess wind energy potential and hybrid projects may be implemented, helping Lebanon transition away from oil dependence for electricity generation.
