Proposal
By Hannah Calvert
Main Product
 My product is an advert for a high street company which will
sell clothing/accessories/shoes/etc. at a reasonable price.
Subsidiary Products
 Radio advert:
- Have someone mention the company name and the grand
opening of the store with a sale.
- Here is an example of a perfume radio advert:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cw_BJR6P24I
Subsidiary Products
 Pop-up:
- The pop-up will have an image of the company’s logo and
the mention of a sale for the opening of the brand new
company/shop.
- Or similarly, have a magazine promotion for the company in a
magazine or on the internet.
Subsidiary Products
 TV Sponsorship:
- There are many TV Sponsorships out there from
perfumes/aftershaves or shampoos.
- An example is Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model and their
sponsorship which is TRESemmé.
- TRESemmé also provides the hair products in the series,
which is an idea pathway I like.
- My company, A-Z could have a sponsorship with someone,
for example a TV show and then help provide the products
they wanted or needed.

Text Research
 The main companies where I got the idea from was:
 H&M
 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYebWR1kSc8
 This is the H&M advert which features the singer Lana Del Rey.
 It also shows some of the clothes you can buy from the
company and includes the pricing as well.
 This H&M advert focuses on one item of clothing and doesn’t
feature any pricing, which gives it more of a professional
atmosphere.
Text Research
 Next
 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InqDPgx2SGA
 This advert focuses on the outside, and people wearing the
clothes by the company out in public.
 Since it is the Summer range, they are out in the sunshine
and enjoying being abroad somewhere.
 All of these adverts aren’t complicated and don’t have a
hidden meaning to them, except the H&M one featuring
Lana, which is then lead to someone’s own interpretation of
what they believe is happening.
What I Have Learnt
 I have learnt that the music used in the adverts may or may
not be diegetic.
 For example, in H&M’s one with Lana, she sings the song
“Blue Velvet” which she released as a single and also
because she had her own line of clothes the company sold
with her as the famous face.
 The music could relate to the surroundings or the
atmosphere trying to be created. For instance, the second
H&M one features the song “I’m a Man” and it creates a feel
of independency and also noticed was that a woman is
singing it – showing the femaleness of the company.
What I Have Learnt
 In having both men and women appear (Next) it shows
everyone that they sell things for both sexes.
 Having just a woman means that they aim for a female target
audience.
 For my own product, I am having just women in it, showing
that only women’s clothes etc. will be sold.
My Company
 Is called A-Z, and as it says, sells everything from the letter A
to Z.
 It’s also a high street brand which will be known for selling
products at reasonable prices and good quality too.
 As previously mentioned, I aim to have just women in the
advert because it is a female company.
Ideas, Words, Images
 In the advert it will begin with the letter A which will be picked
up by someone and carried away. You will see a continuation
of this as letters will be carried this way and that because if
they are carrying letters and are wearing something which
begins with that letter, it signifies that you can buy that from
the company.
 As more and more letters appear you will then finally see the
letter Z appear with the A to conclude the advert.
Target Audience/Focus Group
 My target audience is women aged between 16-35 and
preferably the sizes from 6-16.
 People who like fashion
 Teenagers who want to spend their wages/pocket-money on
reasonable clothing etc.
Locations
 In a classroom/studio to enable room to move about.
 Have different lightings/lights
Casting
 I will have around five girls in my advert which will be of all
different shapes and sizes (because the sizes range from 6-
16).
 In the subsidiary products, for example the TV Sponsorship,
have one of the girls to pose for the photo shoot.
 Like Lana Del Rey, she had a photo shoot of herself wearing
the clothes from her line.
Equipment/Skills
 Camera
 White background/white room for the filming
 Macs for editing and any SFX (iMovie)
 Compose music
 Use my skills I have learnt from doing Media Studies at
College.
What Would Make Me Happy?
 The final product to be as close to what I would like it to be.
 For it to look professional and real.
 It to be as original as can be.
 It is liked by people and make them want to buy something
from the company, even though it isn't real, and then they
wish it was an existing company.
Measure of Success
 I can make sure that my product is what I want it to be by
checking over the final product and then analysing what I
have done also by doing a checklist to know whereabouts I
am with the work.
 Also, I will watch other videos of adverts which gave me the
ideas in the first place again and see if I can compare them
and see if they look professional.
 Receive feedback from others to see what they think of the
overall product(s).
