The photographer plans to take photos both indoors and outdoors at their home. Indoors, they may clear hazards and use additional lighting if needed. Outdoors, they will shoot away from traffic, cables, and a power station for safety. The shoot is scheduled for a sunny October day to allow for backup dates if weather is poor. Natural lighting will be used where possible, with a flash as backup. Permission is not needed as the photos will be at the photographer's home, and they have planned for potential issues like other models, transportation, or equipment problems.

1. Are there any potential hazards that could pose a health and safety risk where your
photo shoot will take place?
My photo shoot will take place both inside a home and outside. Inside the home there could be the risk of
trailing wires and even the risk of falling over something within the home, however this are minor risks.
Whereas outside there’s the risk of traffic, overhead cables and an electric power station over the road from
where my photo shoot will take place. These can pose major risks if precautions are not taken.
2. What will you do to ensure these risks are minimised?
To ensure risks inside the home are minimised I will clear the area which I want to take my photo shoot,
removing any wires or left out items such as shoes, bags etc. To minimise risks inside the home I will steer
clear of all of these problems, I will take my photos away from a main road, away from cables and away from
the power station. This will not only minimise risks but hopefully prevent them altogether.
3. Will the time of day/weather affect the outcome of the photo’s? Have you allowed for
this?
The time of day and weather will affect the outcome of my images. I intend on taking my images on a clear if
not sunny day in order to have strong natural light for both my inside and outside photo shoots, if it is windy or
raining this will affect my images outside as models hair won’t be in the right position and the natural light
won’t be present enough to get the photo I want to achieve. However, the images inside won’t be affected by
the weather but still by the time of day as the light won’t be available. I have allowed for this as I can create
my own lighting for inside the home and I have scheduled my photo shoot with my models on a moderately
sunny day of 13°C. Also toe allow for this I have scheduled my shoot on the October half-term meaning my
models will most likely be free a number of times therefore if the day I have scheduled is bad I can schedule
another without any problems.

4. Have you considered the background for your photo’s and how will you ensure you
get the background you want?
Yes I have considered the background for both inside and outside. For the outside photo shoot I have bought
a union jack backdrop which I will take my photo’s in which will hopefully look more professional as I won’t
have to create my own background and will look very fitting into the alternative music genre. To create this
backdrop I will pin it up on one of my walls and have my models stand in front of it. For the outdoors photo
shoot I will take my images in front of a tree in my back garden to give a naturist look to it without the
unnecessary other background items which I would have to crop out in Photoshop.
5. Have you considered lighting? What about the ‘problems’ of natural lighting either
outside, or streaming through a window? Will you need to use a flash? Have you
I want my images to have as much ncaotunraslildigehrteads preosflseibcletivmee aonbinjegcthtse?re shouldn’t be any problems created
by natural lighting both indoors and outdoors. However, if the natural lighting isn’t bright enough or creates an
overcast on one half of my models faces I may need to add additional light to even out the image, to do this I
will need a flash of some sort. My initial intention however is to use natural light and I will only use a flash if
the natural lighting isn’t very good on my particular chosen day. I have considered reflective objects such as
mirrors in my home which I will cover up when I take my images to prevent any problems with reflective light
as they may ruin my overall images.
6. Do you need permission to take photos in the place/venue you have in mind?
No as I plan to take the images in my home and in my own back garden.
7. Do you need to book a room?
No I don’t. However if my images aren’t of a very good standard after trying to take the images at home I will
have to book the Photography studio at my college and take images there.

8. Are other people/crowds likely to be an issue for you? What have you done to ensure
it will not spoil the effect?
Yes as I have 3models for my photo shoot. To ensure the other models don’t get in the way of the model
doing the photo shoot I have planned to use two separate rooms and call in the model I want at the time
leaving only me and the model being photographed in one room and the others in another room.
9. Are you reliant on lifts/props/friend’s equipment? Have you planned things will come
together at the appointed time? Plan B?
I am reliant on my friends being able to travel to my home, I have however planned that if they can’t travel to
me, I will travel to them. I am also reliant on my union jack flag as a prop, I have already bought this in
preparation however so I won’t have any problems with this. I am not reliant on anything else as I have made
sure I have collected everything before the photo shoot in order to make sure I have everything I need and
that nothing can go wrong.
10. Have you thought of every eventuality?
I believe I have thought of every eventuality meaning I should end up with a good final product overall.
