3. During graduation, preferably last year, you should be ready for future growth.
Be prepared, what to do and what not to do. If your going to enter into IT field, it
is better to have some extra short-term courses or you go ahead learning
yourself on internet where lot of free training courses are available including
practical.
Before heading forward, search the market place and customers demand
including your interest in the field. Most students option for self business after
education while some go to work, its all depend upon their interest.
Have a touch with your friends or seniors who are already working and get idea
from them. Read newspapers, job ads, search on internet about companies,
employment etc. You may be having good academic background but with little
knowledge on market jobs, it becomes extremely difficult when searching for the
jobs specially candidates from town seeking employment at metropolitan cities.
4. Target only on one subject and construct your career. For example, if you have
optioned Bsc in Physics, Maths, and Chemistry, select your interest and move
forward.
If you’re looking to make a career in life science industry, then you go for extra
courses like HPLC, Fermentation technology, chemical analysis etc. There are lot
of short term courses conducted by governments and private institutes for short
duration.
If you have chosen Maths as a subject, you can option programming language for
your career growth. Most of the software companies prefer Maths as one of the
subject at degree level.
As a Physics at degree level, you can go for short-term courses on electronics,
embedded technology or physics related technical courses to work in
manufacturing companies.
5. If you are from arts background, then you are lucky to have plenty of
opportunities in IT and Non-IT field. If you have studied English as one of the
subject, you can easily enter into software companies. HTML, CSS including
HTML 5 and CSS 3 are based only on English. Besides, Content writing, Technical
writing, Business development, Recruiter, PowerPoint specialist, E- learning,
Admin, HR, Web designing, E-mail support, Editor, Social media, Search engine
optimizer, Instructional designer, Market analyst etc. All these designation
requires excellent communication and writing skills in English.
If you are from commerce background, you can go for BPO companies specially
financial sectors or can work as a accountant in private firm. There are many
courses available for short duration. Unlike B.A and Bsc, syllabus of B.com is
common to all except the languages. Multinational companies specialized in
financial sectors offer attractive salary packages, and vacancies are huge in
numbers. Though software skills not needed, but should be excellent in
Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and some hardcore knowledge on accounting.
6. As a fresher, how do you find a job?
Most of the candidates struggle to find a job as a fresher as they are unaware of
companies, current openings, locations, job market. Due to lack of relationship
between candidates and employers, there is a gap expanding between two
