Company emerges as only vendor in Leaders category for Wireless Solutions

company, announced that it is posi-
tioned as the only company in the
Leaders category by Forrester Re-
search, Inc. as part of The Forrester
New Wave™: Wireless Solutions,
Q3 2019 report. In Forrester’s eval-
uation, it found that Aruba “leads the
pack with robust location services
and multiwireless capabilities.”
In the Forrester New Wave™ for
Wireless Solutions, Forrester evalu-
ates the emerging market for wireless
solutions, identifying the eight most
significant vendors in this space. The
report details Forrester’s findings
about how well each vendor’s solu-
tion scored against ten criteria and
where they stand in relation to each
other. Forrester suggests that infra-
structure and operations profession-
als can use this review to select the
right partner for their broader wire-
less needs that go beyond just Wire-
less LAN.
In explaining its evaluation, Forrest-
er noted that Aruba “is the best fit for
companies needing advanced wire-
less services.” As part of its evalua-
tion process, Forrester spoke directly
with customers of each vendor and,
in Aruba’s case, said that “customers
praised Aruba’s rich management
interfaces, monitoring tools, and lo-
cation services, especially the ability
to connect IoT devices using wireless
options outside of just using Wi-Fi
with Aruba’s access points (APs).”
In the report, Aruba’s solution was
deemed “differentiated” in six of the
ten categories upon which all ven-
dors were measured including wire-
less connectivity, wireless hardware,
spectrum/device visibility, security,
solution positioning, and road map.
“We’re gratified to see Forrester
recognizing Aruba as a Leader in its
wireless solutions evaluation and in
particular, our approach to helping
customers contend with the grow-
ing issue of connecting and securing
the myriad IoT devices coming onto
their networks,” said Keerti Melkote,
president and founder, Aruba, a Hew-
lett Packard Enterprise company.
“While Aruba has long been a leader
in WLAN, we recognize it’s about
more than just Wi-Fi; a modern, in-
telligent edge solution must help
drive the kinds of amazing, digital-
ly-connected experiences customers
are seeking. Forrester’s assessment
further validates for us that Aruba
is on the right path and leading the
market.”

Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Am-
azon.com company, announced the general
availability of Amazon Forecast, a fully man-
aged service that uses machine learning to
deliver highly accurate forecasts based on the
same technology that powers Amazon.com.
Amazon uses forecasting to make sure that
the right product is in the right place at the
right time by predicting demand for hundreds
of millions of products every day.
The general availability of Amazon Forecast
provides a major step toward putting the pow-
er ofAmazon’s deep experience in forecasting
into the hands of everyday developers in vir-
tually every industry. Amazon Forecast pro-
duces private, custom models that can help
developers make predictions that are up to
50% more accurate than traditional methods.
“Amazon Forecast now offers the forecast-
ing expertise from Amazon’s first 25 years of
building the world’s largest ecommerce busi-
ness in a managed service for any company to
leverage,” said Swami Sivasubramanian, VP,
Amazon Machine Learning. “We’ve built so-
phisticated, machine learning forecasting al-
gorithms over many years that our customers
can now use in Amazon Forecast without hav-
ing to know anything about machine learning
themselves. We can’t wait to see how our
customers use the service to reduce operating
expenses and inefficiencies, ensure higher re-
source and product availability, deliver prod-
ucts faster, and lower costs to delight their
customers.”
Using machine learning, Amazon Forecast
automatically discovers how variables such
as product features, seasonality, and store
locations affect each other. These complex
relationships can be difficult to spot using
traditional forecasting methods, but Amazon
Forecast uses the machine learning developed
at Amazon to quickly recognize complex pat-
terns to improve forecast accuracy.
Amazon Forecast automatically sets up a data
pipeline, ingests data, trains a model, provides
accuracy metrics, and performs forecasts. De-
velopers do not need to have any expertise
in machine learning to start using Amazon
Forecast and can use the Amazon Forecast
Application Programming Interface (API) or
easy-to-use console to build custom machine
learning models in less than five API calls
or clicks. With Amazon Forecast, customers
can achieve accuracy levels that used to take
months of engineering in as little as few hours.

Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open

Based on the Istio, Kiali and Jaeger projects and
enhanced with Kubernetes Operators, OpenShift

microservices-based application architectures.
This helps to free developer teams from the
complex tasks of having to implement bespoke

business logic.
“Red Hat is a leader in enterprise Kuberne-

and is also available for integration into an orga-
nization’s security ecosystem through the Threat
Feed API. This targeted threat intelligence pro-
vides greater visibility and insight to security pro-
platform by helping to remove the burdens of
network connectivity and management from their
jobs and allowing them to focus on building the
next-generation of business applications”, said
Ashesh Badani, senior vice president, Cloud Plat-
forms, Red Hat.
While microservices present a transformative op-
tion for modern, cloud-native applications, effec-
tively developing and using microservices in pro-
duction can raise new challenges of implementing
and managing inter-service communication. This
has led to the development of the service mesh,
an underlying infrastructure responsible for traf-
fic management, policy enforcement and service
identity and security.
The OpenShift Service Mesh extends these traffic
management features by including service ob-
servability and visualization of the mesh topology
to enhance the service mesh experience. By inte-
grating service mesh natively into the OpenShift
Kubernetes platform, developers can improve
their implementation of microservice architec-
tures. Platform operations teams can benefit from
fessionals, enabling them to more easily respond
and remediate against threats and malicious files.
The cybersecurity landscape changes daily, and
attackers are constantly changing their tech-
niques to avoid detection. According to Mime-
cast’s recent The State of Email Security Report
2019, 94 percent of organizations saw phishing
attacks in the last 12 months and 61 percent said
it was likely or inevitable that they would be hit
with an email-borne attack. IT and security teams
are often overwhelmed by the volume of infor-
mation they need to track and if the intelligence
they need to proactively defend their organization
is buried, their defense becomes less effective.
“The cyberthreat landscape is dynamic, com-
plex and driven by a relentless community of
adversaries. IT and security teams need threat
intelligence that is easy to digest and actionable,
so they can better leverage the information to
proactively prevent and defend against cyberat-
tacks,” said Josh Douglas, vice president of threat
intelligence at Mimecast. “Mimecast sees a lot of
data, as we process more than 300 million emails
every day to help customers block hundreds of
thousands of malicious emails. Mimecast Threat
Intelligence helps organizations get the deep in-
sights they need to build a more cyber resilient
environment.”
