Copyright protects original creative works like art, music, writing, and images by giving the creator ownership over the work for a limited time, during which others cannot use the work without permission. To use a magazine cover photo of Adele found online in a student magazine project, the document explains that the photo creator must be identified through a copyright database and contacted to request permission, with attribution included if allowed. Failing to do so could result in the work being taken down if posted without approval, as with an unpermitted song on YouTube.

With this project being centred on producing a magazine and sourcing images I went onto google
and lookedforanimage froma magazine photoshoot.The image thatIam usingas example for this
task, shown below, is off Adele and it was used on the cover of Time Magazine. To find out who
ownsthe image I am going to use ‘Copyright Hub’. Through searching the image on copyright hub I
have foundthat the photowastakenby Erik Madigan.If I wasto use thisimage for anything I would
have to find his contact details and try to email him asking for permission, even after I have done
this I will have to include a little text box in the corner of the image just saying that the photo was
taken by him.
