1. The opening shot of the film shows a wide shot of a house
which suggests that the house is a main feature of the film and
is going to be important throughout the film, giving an insight
into the film. The shot of the house shows equilibrium because
the house and the surrounding areas look normal for the
character and this is what he is used to

2. From this shot it shows the a character in the film which suggests
he is the main character in the film. The expression on the
characters face suggests that he is in shock or dismay. The
equilibrium of the film doesn’t look like it is going to be happy at
the start because of the expression on the characters face that
there is something not right with him. Barthes theory can be seen
in this shot of the character because the look of shock or dismay
could lead to something later on in the film.

3. Another character is presented in the opening sequence, but
she is considered as a ‘villain’ character who is going to try and
stop the main character during the film which is going to reach
a climax at a certain point in the film. The facial expression of
the female character shows that she knows what the main
character is trying to doing. We knows that she knows because
of the angle her head is tilted and the angle of the shot
expresses the character's feelings with facial expressions.

4. From the main character's facial expression it suggest that
he isn’t ill and is faking it, this could be because of his
social group who are irresponsible and misbehave. from
this screenshot the main character is trying to make the
‘villain’ character feel more strongly about the situation
which shows their relationship isn’t friendly and caring but
trying to make tension between the characters, like a
brother and sister would do.

5. with the main character taking to the camera e.g the audience it
assures that he is the main character and will talk to the audience if
he has things to say but doesn’t want to say it to other character in
the film. This shot also establishes that the main character is faking
his illness and is telling the camera e.g the audience what he is
going to do. The facial expression the main character is showing
how surprised he is that he managed to get away with faking his
illness to his parents.
