• Discuss progress, research evidence, and
recommendations on gender equality presented
in the 2019 Annual Trends and Outlook Report
(ATOR)
• The 2019 ATOR takes an in-depth look at the
intersections of gender and:
1) context and institutions, 2) assets, 3) shocks
and resilience, 4) livelihood strategies, 5)
income and control of income, and 6) well-
being

3. Conference Objectives…cont
• Review progress in meeting key CAADP indicators and the
implementation process:
• Chapter 13 tracks progress on CAADP indicators outlined in the
CAADP Results Framework and in the CAADP implementation
process
• Review progress in conducting the 2nd CAADP Biennial Review and
ensuring its successful completion
• Assess progress in efforts to formulate and implement 2nd generation
national agriculture investment plans (NAIPs)

4. Expected Outcomes
Shared understanding of:
• Africa’s progress in achieving gender equality, remaining gaps, and the way
forward for ensuring gender equality in the context of achieving Malabo
Declaration goals on agricultural transformation
• Actions needed to further advance the implementation of CAADP and Malabo
agenda and ensure the achievement of its goals and objectives
Shared lessons and experiences on:
• Conducting the 2019 Biennial Review and required next steps to successfully
complete the process
• Formulation and implementation of second-generation Malabo compliant NAIPs
