3. We used this example to help us with out digipak. We
used some of the conventions of a digipak by making sure
we kept the artists on every side of the digipak. However
we developed this convention by not having such close ups
of the artist, instead we had long shots, where we got the
two artists(Carina and Alex) full length shots for the 4
panels of the digipak, but we decided to make sure we
kept the artists as the main feature throughout like the
example of Rihanna’s digipak has done. We decided by
having the artists on the digipak throughout this would
entice audiences to buy this digipak.
Used! we used the forms of conventions by
keeping the artists and their song name on the
front cover. We also used the artists as the main
feature on the front of the digipak. We felt it
was crucial to keep the artists and the song
name on the digipak as we felt this showed
importance. We felt by giving the artists name
and song different layouts and fonts this would
mean that the audience could give both equal
attention, to help brand the name and the song
name together. However we developed forms of
convention by making the song name more over
powered than the artists. We decided that
because it was based on paint and colour
throughout the video, we would make the song
name more eye catching than the artists, but still
complimented the artists at the same time.
4. We challenged the different styles of layout for the back of our
digipak by having the songs positioned in the middle, rather than
the right or left hand of the back of the digipak as this is a usual
convention which most dance and pop genres use, therefore we
wanted it to stand out from the rest of the digipaks. We used
forms of the same conventions by not having the artists on the
back as when looking at an example they never had the artists
on the back of the digipak, we decided to go along with this as
we still wanted to keep our digipak, original at the same time, to
attract all audience.
Used! we used a barcode, we all noticed that
this was a common trait in all digipaks, and
therefore we felt it was very essential to use
this.We challenged this example by placing our
barcode on the right hand side in the bottom
corner we felt this looked better and went
better with our image and layout. We decided
to follow this convention as we wanted to
keep our digipak as real as possible this is why
we used the bar code.
5. we used some forms of conventions by keeping the
artists on both sides of the digipak. we felt this would
make it look very realistic.
we wanted to feature both artists in the digipak
as they were the main feature and we wanted to
show importance of each artist, therefore we put
them separately on each side of the panel.
We however challenged this example of the digipak
by getting in the main and important location of the
video in the digipak, which was the wall where the
video is mainly featured at. As you can see with this
example of the digipak is that the music video
location isn’t featured in the panels of the side of her
digipak
