3. I‟m headed down this narrow If people walk with me, talk
road / Chosen by the few / with me, looking for truth
And all that I know is / They‟re gonna find out
You told me to follow You soon
If they‟re following me then
They‟re gonna follow You
I‟m taking a risk and leaving it
all / Not knowing what I‟ll go So let my life speak loud
through / But I‟m not alone and clear
As long as I follow You Lord, I wanna hear
I‟m so glad that I get to
So when my life‟s a leap of faith serve You, Lord
/ I can hear You say You‟re the only One I am
living for, woah
Well done, well done / I‟m gonna I‟m gonnaRUN straight into
chase You, Lord / I‟m gonna Your open arms
show the world Your love, woah I‟m gonna follow You with
all my heart, woah, woah
/ I‟ll RUN, I‟ll RUN/ I‟m gonna
RUN this race / To hear You say
well done
WELL DONE, by Moriah Peters
4. Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that
clings to usand persevere in running the race that lies
before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader
and perfecter of faith. For the sake of the joy that lay
before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and
has taken his seat at the right of the throne of
God.Consider how he endured such opposition from
sinners, in order that you may not grow weary and lose
heart.
In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to
the point of shedding blood. You have also forgotten the
exhortation addressed to you as children: “My son, do not
disdain the discipline of the Lord or lose heart when
reproved by him; for whom the Lord loves, he disciplines;
he scourges every child he acknowledges.”
A reading from St. Paul’s letter to
the Hebrews (12:1 – 12)
5. Endure your trials as “discipline”; God treats you as sons
and daughters. For what “child” is there whom his father
does not discipline? If you are without discipline, in which
all have shared, you are not sons and daughters but
orphans. Besides this, we have had our earthly fathers to
discipline us, and we respected them. Should we not [then]
submit all the more to the Father of spirits and live? They
disciplined us for a short time as seemed right to them, but
he does so for our benefit, in order that we may share his
holiness.
At the time, all discipline seems a cause not for joy but for
pain, yet later it brings the peaceful fruit of righteousness
to those who are trained by it.
So strengthen your drooping hands and your weak knees.
The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

◦ “Be satisfied with what you can do, since God
is satisfied with it, but do not spare yourself in
what you can do with grace; and believe that,
provided you want it, you can do more with the
grace of God than you think.”

12. St. Benedict
◦If we wish to reach eternal life,
even as we avoid the torments
of hell, then – while we are in
this body and have time to
accomplish things by the light of
life – we must RUN now and do
what will profit us forever.
Reflection
19. To you, God, from whose hands comes the
work of creation, so artfully designed, we
pray that this work we are about to do may
be done in companionship with you.
May the work that we will soon begin sing
praise to you as songbirds do.
May the work that we will soon begin add to
the light of your presence because it is done
with great love.
May the work that we will soon begin speak
like a prophet of old of your dream of beauty
and unity.
Closing Prayer – PRAYER BEFORE
BEGINNING WORK
20. May the work that we will soon begin be a
shimmering mirror of your handiwork in
the excellence of its execution,
◦ in the joy of doing it for its own sake,
◦ in our poverty of ownership over it,
◦ in our openness to failure or success,
◦ in our invitation to others to share in it and
◦ in its bearing fruit for the world.
Closing Prayer – PRAYER BEFORE
BEGINNING WORK
21. May we be aware that through this work
that we will soon begin that we draw near
to you.
We come to you, O Lord, with ready
hands.
Bless the race we are about to RUN and
the work we are about to do.
AMEN.

Then the king will say to those on his right, „Come, you
who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom
prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I
was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you
gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked
and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison
and you visited me.‟ Then the righteous will answer him
and say, „Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,
or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a
stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?‟ And
the king will say to them in reply, „Amen, I say to you,
whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine,
you did for me.‟
