The Oktoberfest is a 16-day festival held each year in Munich, Germany in late September and early October that attracts around 6 million people annually. It is held at the Theresienwiese festival grounds and features traditional German food, parades, rides, and large quantities of beer consumed in massive tents. The first Oktoberfest was held in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese, and has grown to become a world-famous festival and important part of Bavarian culture.
