Seminar Issues in Management
3. A problem is mostly an internal, temporary obstacle facing the management. For
example, CG Electronics has been facing constant sales decline in the recent
days; International Development Bank has been unable to keep its shareholders
happy; NABIL Bank has been facing more job security demands from its
employees.
Issues are stronger than the problems and are widely rooted with socio-
economic, political-legal, technological and ethical concerns. For example, High
Value Agriculture Products Project [HVAP] has been concerned on how to
promote gender empowerment and social inclusion (GESI) through its project
activities, compliance with corporate social responsibility (CSR), especially
subsidized airfare to the people from high hill and mountains, has become a
daunting task for Nepal Airlines in the present developing context, employee
engagement, employee empowerment, management of workplace safety, etc.
are the burning issues of all sectors globally today.
Challenges are the most critical obstacles, mostly emerged from the external
environment, i.e., regulating or governing environment. For example,
globalization, changing attitude of young workers, political uncertainty,
technological innovation, etc. India’s concern over Nepalese politics is a severe
growing challenge that may give birth to numerous problems and issues.
