I. Affiliate marketing guides
If you haven’t considered rolling out an Affiliate Program for your Membership Site before … you should.
Affiliate programs can bring your products significantly more attention and sales than many other forms
of marketing. If done correctly they can enable you to build relationships with bloggers, site owners and
others to help spread the word about your membership site.
Unlike most other WordPress membership plugins, MemberPress works out of the box with a robust
affiliate program plugin (which was specifically created to work first and foremost with MemberPress)
called Affiliate Royale (which is now included with MemberPress).
Why is this significant?
Because even if you don’t plan on rolling out an affiliate program with your membership site
immediately … when you use MemberPress you won’t be limiting yourself … you’ll be able to roll out an
affiliate program without headache whenever you want. In addition to this, you’ll be able to do more
with your affiliate program than you would by using some other membership plugins.
It is true that Affiliate Royale works with several different payment solutions and membership systems
(including some of our competitors) … but we have a more thorough and in -depth integration between
Affiliate Royale and MemberPress … an integration that allows us to do things that other systems can’t.
Of course, any affiliate program worth its salt needs to manage affiliates (including their signup process),
get affiliates their links & banners and, most importantly, track sales & commissions. When you install
Affiliate Royale alongside MemberPress these features and more begin to work without any complicated
integration processes … it’s insanely easy.

Your Affiliate Program … on Auto-Pilot
So, in addition to these basic features … when using Affiliate Royale with MemberPress your affiliate
commissions will stay in sync with whatever happens to these transactions in MemberPress including
when it comes to refunds and cancellations.
For example, say Sally referred Bob to subscribe to your membership site. As soon as a transaction
completes in MemberPress for Bob’s new membership then Affiliate Royale will automatically calculate
and record the correct commission for the sale.
But now Bob needs a refund … so you issue a refund from MemberPress or from your gateway …
Affiliate Royale will automatically re-calculate and record the correct commission for Sally … effectively
backing out the commission she made initially. This process alone will save you time and troubles
because you won’t ever have to remember to manually back out commissions like you have to do when
using some other membership plugins and affiliate software.
Late last year we rolled out a powerful new feature to help membership site owners incentivize affiliates
based on their membership level. We call this new feature Commission Groups and it works exclusively
with Affiliate Royale’s MemberPress integration.
Commission Groups enable you to allow your members to become eligible for more commissions
depending on what membership products they’re active on.
For example, say you have 3 products: Bronze, Silver and Gold. You specify a default commission of 10%
to be paid out on each sale but then you add a custom commission group to Bronze for 20%, Silver for
30% and Gold for 40%.
Now, say Sally (our affiliate from the example above) is an affiliate but is also a Silver member of your
membership site but Jay is an affiliate who hasn’t joined your membership site yet. In this scenario, if Jay
refers Andrea and she signs up for a membership then Jay will receive a 10% commission when her
transaction completes. However, if Sally refers Bob and he signs up for a membership then Sally will
receive a 30% commission when his transaction completes … because she’s part of your Silver produ ct’s
You can see from this example that using MemberPress commission groups can help you to not only
incentivize people to upgrade but will help you to cultivate a higher quality of affiliates … people who
actually use your membership site who can more effectively help others to make the decision to join.
Because of this tight integration and advanced features available between these two plugins … you’ll
save yourself a lot of headaches and you’ll be able to do some really cool things when it comes to your

membership site’s affiliate program … things that can’t be done with other membership plugins and
affiliate program software.
II. Affiliate marketingstrategies
Affiliate marketing is a low-cost
way for merchants to build
awareness and showcase their
products and services. The model
is simple; it works as a
system. A partner or affiliate
markets a merchant's products
for a "piece of the pie."
Affiliate marketing experts often make an income that can tally over five figures
per month, however only 1 to 5% of thousands of marketers achieve this level.
When an affiliate reaches this elite level they are often referred to as a "super"
How does one become a super affiliate? Can anyone do it? Super aff iliates have
common tactics that they embrace and put into place. Anyone can become a
super affiliate, but it will not come without blood, sweat, and a hefty time
commitment. The typical super affiliate possesses the following traits:
Thirst for Knowledge
These three traits combined with the following strategy gives you the formula for
the makings of a "super" affiliate.
1. Find a Unique Niche

The mistake that many affiliate marketing hopefuls have in common is that they
try to offer everything under the sun rather than focusing on a specific niche
market. Do not scatter your efforts, focus on your niche, promote it, and sell it
2. Search Engine Marketing
Once you've built your affiliate storehouse you will need to promote it. Many
affiliates use pay-per-click engines. I suggest that you learn how to achieve organic
search results or hire a search engine marketing company. This will save you from
spending all your profits on pay-per-click engines. Only use pay-per-click engines
if you know what you are doing, otherwise all your profits may end in the hands of
Google Adwords or Overture.
3. Know Your Product, Know Your Audience
Create a resource. By taking the time to learn about the products and/or services
that you are offering you can create information that builds your credibility. That
credibility builds trust. If your viewers do not have trust in you more than likely
they will not purchase from your storehouse. If you want more information on the
psychological process that an online buyer goes through I suggest that you read
my article on the Five Levels of Internet Marketing and the Sales Process. This will
help you in creating a web site that converts well, which in return will increase
your cash flow.
4. Don't Put All Your Eggs in One Basket
Promote products from different merchants. This way if you have a problem with
receiving payment from a merchant, or their products do not convert well the
effects on your business will be minimal. Watch out for exclusivity agreements;
remember this is your business. Protect yourself and diversify so that you do not
feel the famine effect if something goes wrong. There is absolutely nothing wrong
with promoting niche products from different merchants.
5. Seek Knowledge and Embrace Change
Performance review phrases comments/ free download examples Page 4
If you are familiar with Internet marketing at all you know that what worked three
months ago may not work today. Stay on top of the trends. Seek knowledge, start
by learning something new about affiliate marketing daily. For example remember
those marketing tools called "banner" that use to drive sales at an astronomical
rate a few years ago? Well those banners developed a term called "banner
blindness." That means most online viewers will not click on banners even if they
do pertain to what they are looking for. To be a "super" affiliate you must always
spend time reading, learning, and embracing the changes in Internet marketing.
6. Don't Give Up
It's hard to do, and most of the time those dabbling in affiliate marketing give up
way too soon. Monitor your statistics, watch to see what is working and what is
not. Make changes when necessary. Do one thing daily to promote your storehouse
and be patient. Before you know it you will start getting payments.
Remember that it will not happen overnight. Encompass and develop the
persistence, patience, and knowledge. Then follow the tactics I've mentioned
above and you are on your way to becoming a "super" affiliate.
