  • Get the listeners in the mindset. And cover the Outline for the presentation.
Our focus today is how to….
    Understand who were building for.
Understand what their needs are, and figure out what they don’t even know they need.
Plan your work and work your plan. Keep an open mind but a tight grasp on your budget.
Keep the suits happy. Define your business objectives.
The UX transcends the end user, think about your stakeholders and your actual content editors.
    Slow Down! Deep breaths, pause
  • UX gets thrown around with very little thought to the actual user. We like to take a thought leadership role with respect to UX when taking on new projects.
Rather than building a site for the production value alone we like to define who the end user is and what is actually valuable to that user.
    Slow Down! Deep breaths, pause
  • The point of web development is to deliver a functional, elegant, and memorable experience for the desired user. If the end users are 15 year old Hello Kitty fans your site is going to be completely different than if the target users are chronically ill patients communicating with their doctors on a patient portal.
It is extremely important to clearly define the target end user and their expectations and what is most valuable to them before you even begin web development otherwise you might completely miss the mark, wasting the client’s time and money and creating something that delivers little to no value.
    Inflection Point: Pause
    Slow Down! Deep breaths, pause
  • Once you discover the end user and have a plan of action stick to it regardless of what the designers come up with. If it is not functional for the end user it is obsolete and dilutes the focus and point of the project.
The end user is the judge, jury and executioner.
    Slow Down! Deep breaths, pause
  • Slow Down! Deep breaths, pause
  • We have been doing this for quite a while and our experience really helps us set expectations for our clients. It is important to focus the clients scope and recommend the best strategy moving forward.
    That requires asking as many questions from the client as you can such as;
Who is this site for within the organization?
    Marketing?
    Sales
    Internal employee communications
    HR…etc
What do you want the site to accomplish?
    Increase sales?
    Increase online event registration?
    Publishing new content rapidly?
    Lead generation…etc
    Target demographic
Which section is of most importance to you and your business
    Ultimate business goals

  • Now you know what the client wants and who the target audience is, as solution experts it is now your opportunity to deliver something that is functional and exceeds every expectation.
Without the right context your final deliverable can never meet the desired expectations.

  • There are many elements that go into making a great User Experience and at times the ingredients can become endless and overwhelming, but staying focused on the End Users and the Business Objectives will help you define the best methods to creating an end deliverable that provides the best value for the client. A great UX does not always mean all the bells and whistles available to you as a developer but rather a functional site that users use over and over again.
    K.I.S.S
    Slow Down! Deep breaths, pause
  • It is important to reiterate that each element is unique to each project but there are some basic principles that we like focus on throughout the course of each development project.
By molding each aspect to the requirements of the client we are able to deliver a meaningful UX to the end user, not just an abstract idea of UX that does not meet the intended objective of the project

  • We love to ‘wow’ our clients, both visually and functionally. This is how we approach every project with the intent to wow our clients in every facet of the end deliverable.
Building functional platforms that move our client’s businesses forward is our end goal, and our primary focus. We don’t build things like mega menus just for the atheistic appeal or an infinite scroll functionality for the production value we add these elements because it satisfies the needs of the end user. The true beauty of our solutions are in the value they add to the client and their business.
    Slow Down! Deep breaths, pause
  • We took our experience and expertise and have created a solution that delivers Functionality and a great User Experience in every platform. We deliver a wow every time we deploy.
