- I grew up in West Oakland California in one of the most dangerous slums in the world.
- I learned to code at 11, it changed the trajectory of my life.
- Values & Integrity instilled at home helped me build a career in technology that has taken me to amazing heights.
- When I was 14 internet access changed my life. The critical point was when my brother taught me 5 lines of HTML code that read HELLO World onto the screen. But the internet also posed a major problem; with unlimited access to information positive and negative I had to answer an important question….
- As Van Jones once said, “code or be coded”.
- Have great hopes and dreams and develop strong habits and practices to support them in becoming a reality.
- Know how to identity resources no matter how small, and learn to maximize them for impact in your life and others.
- Entrepreneurship is a great route to independence, and living your life with power will make you an incredible person and entrepreneur
- Your body is a great muscle that supports your mind, they both need to be fed in order to stay healthy and lead you to success.
- Whatever you have treat it well, especially your body. Making your own plans will keep you from becoming the victim of someone else’s failure to plan.
- Allow yourself time to quiet the mind, and hear your inner voice.
- Spend your time in spaces that help you grow, with people that help you grow.
- Words have incredible power…
- When facing a challenge always look for the solution.
- Live in your power as much as you can with your words.
- Set yourself up to be supported by others with your words rather that doubted.
- Live in the present with your words as much as possible.
- Replacing as many weak words as you can with powerful words

- You don’t need a “daddy”, a “mama” or “friends”. You need support. Learn what support looks like and through that you can learn to identity the father figures from the pimps, and friends from frienemies.
- You are not a product to be bought or sold. You can create products with your mind and ideas – sell those products. Don’t sell yourself.
- Grown Ass Woman.
- This is a “Woman”. The statement “Grown Woman” creates redundancy. Make your emphasis meaningful, when you say it, say it once and say it powerfully. This teaches people to listen when you speak. Never use expletives to refer to oneself, “head bitch”, “grown ass woman”, you are not a body part, or an animal. You are a Woman. That is incredibly powerful.
