2. Robert Rogulic currently manages his transportation
business, Tri-National, Inc., as president and chief
executive officer. In this position of leadership Robert
Rogulic oversees all Tri-National services, ranging from
consolidation and distribution to cross dock
operations.
Cross docking, also known as cross dock operations
or pool distributions, is an effective way of reducing
expenses connected to long-term storage. During
the process of cross docking a product is unloaded
from an incoming shipment, either out of containers
or off of a trailer, and subsequently sorted and
reloaded onto an outbound truck for delivery.
3. When cross docking is provided by an
experienced and effective transportation or
delivery professional, storage costs can be
greatly reduced or eliminated entirely, as there
is no need to store the product or go through
phases of order fulfillment.
Cross dock operations also cut back on the
inventory a transportation provider or
manufacturer is required to keep track of at
any given time. Additional benefits include a
lowered risk of product damage, reduced
transit times, and increased throughput.
