5. REIL was established in 1981.
It has a prominent place amongst the electronics
industry of Rajasthan.
The company is a joint venture between the
Government of India & the Government of
Rajasthan.
The company was conferred the status of
a "MINI RATNA" by the Department of Public
Enterprises, Ministry of Industry, Government
of India in 1997.
The company has been certified by ISO 9001
firm.

7. Basic objective in the dairy development
program is to increase the production of
milk.
Milk collection depends on prompt
payment of fair & correct price, to
encourage producers to increase milk
production.
Therefore it is very necessary that each
sample of milk should be tested for its
quality (i.e. fat content) & testing should
be completed with in 2 to 3 hours time
in order to make correct payment.
Milk sample would also get spoiled if
not tested immediately in the absence of
facility to preserve them, especially at
village level.10/10/2014 Roshan Mani 7
9. It is an instrument which is used for the
measurement of fat percentage in milk.
Percentage of fat content is displayed quickly
and accurately on a digital readout.
Operates on AC-mains as well as on battery.
It doesn't use any type of corrosive chemical.
Much better than old traditional methods.
Several thousand small and large dairies and
Village Milk Collection Centers are being
benefited with its use.

10. It works on the photometric measurement of light
scattered by the fat globules present in the milk
sample.
Proteins, SNF, lactose may also affect measurement.
Dissolve them using diluent.
To make fat globules same size a homogenizer
section is used.

16. In renewable energy division, REIL offers
a wide range of state of the art of Solar
Photovoltaic module.
These are used to convert solar energy
into electricity.
These are made up of array of different
solar cells.
A solar cell generates approximately 0.5
volts.
Higher voltages and current are obtained
by connecting these cells in series or
parallel according to the requirement.

17. Solar cells, also called photovoltaic (PV) convert
sunlight directly into electricity.
They are made up of Silicon which is a semi
conducting material.
These material absorb the sunlight , thereby knocking
out loose electrons from their atoms, allowing the
electrons to flow through the material to produce
electricity.
This process of converting light (photons) to
electricity (voltage) is called the Photovoltaic (PV)
Effect
This energy is stored in batteries and can be used in
night hours.

20. This is the process of making terminals of
a bare cell by soldering copper strips to
the bus bar.
10/10/2014 Roshan Mani 20
21. A row of cells is made by connecting positive
surfaces of one cell to the negative surface of
another cell.

22. In this process, rows of SPV cells are connected
in series to get the desired power rating.

23. Solar cells are laminated between back sheet
(Polyester Tedlar) and high transitivity
toughened glass.
EVA is used to provide environmental
protection.
The designed lay up is sand-witched between
these layers.
Then the module formed is placed inside the
laminator for lamination followed by an oven
for curing.
10/10/2014 Roshan Mani 23
24. Laminated modules are channelled from all
the four sides.
Anodized aluminium frames are used for
channelling.
This frame provides structural support for
mounting and shock resistance.
Makes the module to withstand adverse
environmental conditions.
Rugged Weather-proof nylon terminal box
for output connections.

25. Domestic Lighting System (DLS): for residential needs in
remote villages, schools where electricity is not available.
Street Lighting System (SLS): for lighting pathways, parks &
public places.
Water pumping: for small-scale irrigation, residential usage
in remote villages, marine pumping etc.
Communication: by emergency radios, orbiting satellites
and cellular telephones.
Solar based appliances: for charging battery, portable
lanterns, solar heaters.
Sign Boards and Glow signs, Railway Signaling system.

26. This training made me learn the practical
aspects of engineering.
It gave me experience of working in a
professional environment with professional
people at a professional place.
I have learnt adjusting myself to the hectic
schedule and workload which I will have to
face in the future.
